23 (male) 140kg (308lbs) Need some help!

Hey everyone , hope you are all doing well where ever you are on this earth!

Not sure if this is ok to post here? but ill go ahead :) ill also keep it short.

So im 23 years old from sweden who is looking for some tips from you all who are on your weight loss journey or have lost it and kept it off when it comes to dieting and workout. I have been trying to lose weight since around 18 when i was 118kg ish but it always ended up in failure, there are so many diets out there that its impossible to know what works and what doesnt.

I dont want to make any excuses for myself really , i do have alot of issues mentally but i want to fight through it this time and make a change!

How do you deal with setbacks like for ex over eating , cheating and eating something you arent suppost to etc or when the depresssion hits you like a ton of bricks and u have a bad week.

I am from a middle eastern/muslim background so my family atm are fasting , eat at sunset. Im not religious myself so i drink water all day doing it like a intermittent fasting. Im thinking of maybe continue doing that but 16/8 fasting. if you have good tips ill take them :) .
