I lost my first 10 pounds!!!!! I think I see a difference in my face... and my partner's mum asked me if I was losing weight :) I'm really proud of myself and I've had fun along the way!! Started at ~160lbs (ancient analog scale) Now clocking in at 148.8 lbs!!! (Shiny new digital scale) I'm 5'2 and aiming for 120 lbs, 27 F.
This is the first time I've genuinely tried to lose weight.. most of my life I've been a reasonably healthy weight (high end of healthy bmi), and when I occasionally thought about losing weight I relied on 'instinct' alone. However, the past two years I became sedentary with a poor diet to boot (I'm 3rd year university student), and I reached the cusp of the overweight/obese BMI. I realised I had to make lifestyle changes to shed the extra 40lbs. My goal is primarily to be healthy, and part of that includes weight loss.
A big thank you to everyone here for the inspiration and advice!! It was easy to find enough information quickly to start me out on a good, healthy track. Plus, seeing success here tells me that I CAN DO IT TOO! I know it's a tough journey and that itll get harder.. but so far I have been truly enjoying myself! It's been a really positive experience. Now I'm astonished at how poorly I was treating myself. Looking forward to losing hopefully another 16-20 lbs over the course of the summer and maintaining the habits I build now over the upcoming school year!
