Starting on weight loss

Recently I've not been feeling so well. I had this awful cough that wouldn't go away and I decided to go to the doctor. He told me it was possibly asthma, which shocked me. I've had asthma as a child, but as I grew I grew out of it (for as far as that's possible, I still had a terrible lung capacity). I realized that I've caused all of this by allowing myself to become obese (BMI of 36), so I'm starting my weight loss.

It's not the first time that I'm trying to lose weight, but this time I really want to stay motivated. I can't do this to my health and I hate the looks that I get. It's not so much the strangers, but when my dad looks at me and I can see that he's concerned I feel terrible.

I'm tracking calories with Lifesum, and I've started swimming 2-3 times a week for exercise. Aside from that I've started walking everywhere I can feasibly walk to. University, grocery stores, friends' houses in the same city.

I hope this time I can keep it up. Do you guys have any tips for me? I have to spend a lot of time studying meaning sedentary, but at those times I feel bored and I'll want to eat something. What are you tips for boredom eating?
