Howdy!
I have often welcomed those who have lost 100+ lbs (~ 50 kg , ~7 stone) to “the club” and joked that club meetings were on Thursdays. I recently suggested that we try out having a regular thread to talk about issues that are particular to those who have lost 100+ lbs, those who are well on their way and those who are just at the beginning of a journey this big. [EDIT: And the mods reached out to say that they supported that idea].

Why a regular focused thread?
100+ lbs is the equivalent of a small adult human. Losing that much weight at a healthy rate can take months to years, and there are many topics that are quite different for this situation than for those who only have smaller amounts to lose.
I hope that this thread can be inspirational for those just setting out to start their journeys.
As with several of the other weekly threads I participate in like Maintenance Monday or Running with LoseIt. I will try to provide a prompt for the week, however you are free to move the discussion in any direction you would like or ask any questions you think might be best answered by someone who has lost 100+ lbs.

Today’s Prompt: Loose skin. We’ve carried around the extra weight of an small adult under our skin.
Do you have any loose skin after weight loss? A little? A lot? Where is it? Did you do anything during your journey to help prevent it? Have you had any skin surgically removed after the weight loss?
Personally I’m surprised at how little of loose skin I have. The only thing I did to help prevent it was to lose the weight slowly at just over 1 lb/week. Most of my loose skin is not visible if I am wearing boxer briefs. From my belly button to my inner upper thighs. My butt looks a bit like a Shar Pei, but it’s a small price to pay for being a lot healthier now. My only other obvious loose skin is on my neck.
I don’t plan on having any of it removed at this point as there is no medical reason for it and my weight distribution is still adapting to life in maintenance.
