Others who have made it, how do you decide when to eat junk food?

My Background

I finished my weight loss in Feb of this year from 200 lbs to 140 lbs. I calorie counted and took up running as a hobby. Life is pretty good now, I have a BMI of 22, I get body composition scans twice a year as a result of an unrelated medical condition and I have 14% Body Fat Mass down from 30% and my Skeletal Muscle Mass has increased from 30% to 44% of body weight. Thanks to my running training I have a 5k time of 22:38 down from 30:05. During my weight loss I was very hard on myself, there were three days when I ate over my goal over six months.

My Issue

Prior to losing the weight I had a very bad relationship with junk food. I wouldn't deny myself anything and I'd frequently consume large portions of whatever I felt like. Once I hit my weight loss goal I decided I could just eat whatever I wanted on the weekend and work back down to my target weight during the week by calorie restricting.

This works but it's led to some obsession over what I will be able to have when the weekend comes. I'll usually be OK Monday/Tuesday but over Wednesday - Friday I'm thinking a lot about it or feeling hungry when I know I shouldn't be. I'm not happy with this and I'm looking to change. The weekend comes and I eat all the things then I start working my way down again. This sounds like binge eating to me.

I don't want to cut these foods out completely but I'm looking to try and have a healthier relationship with them so I can enjoy them. I was wondering if any other people with a bad relationship with junk food have achieved this. I thought about just allowing myself to have it regardless of the day as long as I stayed a little under my maintenance. But I'm worried this will lead to it getting out of control.
