NSV: Exercise is getting easier!

Stats: 20F H: 5”8 SW: 212lbs CW: 187lbs

Exercise has never been the main focus of my weight loss journey, I’ve tried making changes in how I view and consume food for the most part and it’s been working! However, about two months ago I tried to go on a “simple two mile run” along with my partner, and in true washed up high school athlete form I was shocked at how miserably I failed. I was left wheezing and hardly able to stand, and my legs locked up for days afterwards. I then realized that even though I was “losing weight” I was not getting in better shape at all in terms of fitness! So I started with long walks and then began running in small increments, just until I became tired and then I let myself stop. Today I ran those same two miles I ran a few months ago, and this time I felt good when I was done. There was no wheezing, no having to kneel over while others looked on, and no muscle pain! My time was about 21 minutes, which isn’t great but it’s something I can improve on over time. My goal now is to consistently continue with running until it gets easier and easier (and I’m not having to coax myself with “just one more half mile” while daydreaming about the chicken I’ll prepare for lunch)
