Hi all, so.. this is cross posted on another weight loss subreddit, but I wanted to get as much perspective as possible, so I'm dropping it here too.
Post-----------
I will try to not make this too wordy, but I might not succeed in that, lol.
I've lost significant weight in the past, I've gained it back unfortunately, but I thought I knew how to lose it as I've done so before.
I'm between 200-203 lbs, doesn't fluctuate more than that, usually in the morning I weigh right around 200. I'm 5 foot 4.5 inches tall, female, late 20s.
I've been dieting for 6 months now. I had some initial success, losing about 13 lbs. However, now it has been 4 whole months with no progress. ZERO. This is too long of a plateau to be normal, in my opinion.
So, I consume between 1,200 and 1,350 calories per day. I am METICULOUS about counting, measuring, weighing everything. Down to every time I use oil, butter, seasonings, every minor thing I can think of. I don't drink my calories. I have an office job, but I jog/power walk on the treadmill 4 times per week for about an hour each go.
My TDEE on inactive days is likely around 1,900 or a bit more, according to calculators I've used. More on days that I exercise, but I don't eat back any exercise calories.
So, I've tried some changes and still have had no more success. I've tried upping my calories to 1,500 for two weeks, got no where. I tried dropping it back down and sticking only to 1,200, and I get no where. Anywhere in between doesn't seem to do anything, either. I give it 2 weeks any time I make a conscious change like this to try and see any movement, and it just does not happen.
I'm baffled because I went from 211 lbs to 142lbs before, in about 9 months, and this was only about 3 or 4 years ago. I'm doing the SAME things, actually doing better in nutrition this time because instead of only CICO I am more mindful of the specific foods, eating more veggies and less sugar and fried junk, but still, CICO, right?? Why is it not working this time? I just don't understand. It makes me want to cry and give up.
How on earth could I be in a consistent calorie deficit and not lose anything? I haven't seen below 200. I tried another scale, same thing. It is insanely frustrating to have lost the extra weight before and now I'm not able to do it.
I'm going to try scheduling an appointment with my new primary care doctor to address this concern and see if there is something going on with my body that I am not aware of. That said, I don't have any KNOWN medical problems, other than my obvious obesity.
I dunno, I wanted to vent, but also to see if anyone could tell me anything I might not be seeing from my perspective. Thanks for reading if you made it this far. Much appreciated!
