Quick Backstory -
Grew up normal sizeGot big after HSJoined the army and slimmed downMarried and had a kid and blew up to 250lbs
My breaking point was essentially not being able to do anything with my toddler without feeling like death. I always deluded myself with sayings such as "I don't look like I weigh as much as I do" or "I carry the weight well". But X-large clothing and 38W stretch jeans looked like they were painted on me and it just became embarrassing and impossible to ignore anymore.
What I did - First, I googled "weight loss Reddit" because any time I get interested in something I search for that thing + "Reddit" just to see if there is a community for it. Lo and behold i find this place, and i research out the ass.
I decided that counting calories and focusing on getting high protein was enough to start. I went about a month with strictly calorie counting (logging in MFP) and no real exercise and it was working fine. As I did more research I realized I didn't JUST want to lose weigh, that I wanted to actually reshape my body as well so I got a gym membership and started lifting as well.
I also have a Garmin Vivosport fitness tracker along with Go365 through my employer provided Humana health insurance. I gave myself a point goal on there (you get points through various activities, a lot of those are exercise based) so i could upgrade my current Garmin to a better one. I needed every motivation I could get to make myself work a little harder.
Once quarantine started, I continued the same eating routine as normal and it has actually felt easier while working from home. But my libra chart shows more fluctuation daily so take that for what it is worth. I said I would like to be 185 by the end of August but I have kind of bulldozed past that projection.
