Weight loss postpartum - advice appreciated

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping for some feedback because I feel a little stuck right now. I want to say I’m OKAY if this is just not happening right now, I just want to know if I’m on the right track or if something can be optimized.

I had my second baby 3.5 months ago. Before delivery I was 179 lbs, the day after I delivered I was 169, and a few weeks later my weight leveled out around 162. Since then, I’ve been trying to drop another 5–10 lbs, but it feels like I lose a pound and then stall for a long time. Right now I’m 154 lbs.

Here’s what I’ve been doing: • Calories: set to 2200, but my actual average last week was ~2250. I’d say ~80% adherence — sometimes I grab bites off my kid’s plate, sometimes social events throw me off, and the last two days before grocery shopping meals are more patchwork. I try to track everything as best I can. • Diet: I meal prep, rarely eat out, and drink coffee daily. • Exercise: Strength train 3x/week (lifting effort around 5–6/10). • Learn-to-run 5K program: currently doing ~2 min run / 2 min walk intervals for 6–8 rounds. • Step goal: 12,000 daily. • Lifestyle: Exclusively breastfeeding.

A few more details: • Before, I was eating 2500–2700 calories, then slowly dropped to 2200 where I did see some initial progress, but nothing in the last week or so. • I don’t want to overtrain or tank my milk supply, but I also don’t want to just spin my wheels.

My questions: • Am I still eating too much at 2200–2250 while breastfeeding and being this active? • Should I be more patient, or do I need to tighten up tracking more? • Is it normal for weight loss to be this slow after baby #2?

Any feedback, experiences, or tips would be really appreciated — thank you!
