197cm tall and approx 220kg.

Hi Reddit.

I am an 18 year old man. I had what you might call a false start to the whole childhood thing. I was emotionally manipulated and abused for the first 15 years of my life. My primary coping mechanisms are food, and losing hours behind a screen, often doing both simultaneously. As it stands, I maintain a fitness level that is lucky given my weight, but I am concerned that my skeletal and respiratory systems will not continue their outstanding effort in the face of this hefty conundrum. As such, I need a hand figuring out a few things specific to me. I'll list off a few questions I have:

- Given that my maintenance caloric intake is around 4000, what defecit do you suggest to begin with?

- At 220kg, my frame is suprisingly ok looking. I have what I perceive to be an ok way of distributing fat over my body, and a good amount of muscle mass from being so heavy whilst also being in a family predisposed to being well built. What tips and/or predictions do you have regarding muscle retention?

- On a budget of $40 Australian dollars a week, is it feasible for me to cook a bulk set of meals in cheap tupperware and eat them near exclusively? This is in hopes that I can reliably measure caloric intake, as well as get proper nutrition.

- Are you, or do you know of, a person with a similar weight loss journey to mine, being a large man who needs to lose another large man in weight to be healthy? If so please share some pics, anecdotes and the likes.

I am nervous about this. I've been making health changes gradually over the last year as my mental health improves, but I finally feel like I'm at the stage where I have the fortitude to cut large swathes out of my bodyweight. I hope to reach a target of around 120 kilograms by the end of next year. If there are any issues, impossibilities or unrealistic compenents to this wall of text, please let me know. I am keen to hear your responses, thanks for reading this far.
