I wish people (close to you) would stop fat shaming. I guarantee that when someone gains weight they know it 98% of the time.
So I had a really rough year in 2019 and combined with emotional eating I gained a tonne of weight.
I was a student studying abroad.
I can’t open up to my family completely and it was so bad when I first moved back. They would constantly call me fat and point out all my ‘flaws’. I actually don’t mind being told to be healthy but theres such a line between being insulting and genuinely caring.
The last straw was when I got gifted cupcakes for my birthday and I got yelled at for eating my own birthday cupcakes. I almost relapsed (for a week) into my bulimic tendencies and restricting to 400 calories a day.
Luckily I’m finally in a much better place now mentally and I’m enjoying eating healthier and exercising although some days are tough.
Most people in this forum probably understand but for anyone else seeing this the right way to motivate people to lose weight is through support, encouragement and understanding. I really love this community because it provides just that because sometimes it can feel quite lonely.
Anyway hope everyone has a good day and I hope you stay strong and stay committed!
