Losing weight as a (very) short sedentary female?

Alright. So I’m short. I’ve calculated my BMR before online and it usually gives around 1200-1275 which seems about right. I’m also disabled which limits my exercise choices pretty severely, and I’m very sedentary. I maintain at around 1350-1400 calories which is really frustrating because I like food. I’ve also read that going under 1200 calories is a bad idea but I don’t know if that’s always true or just generally true. I’d like to lose about 5 pounds by August and if I can only have a 150 calorie deficit then it’d take almost four months to lose that much which isn’t something I’d like to do.

Would going into a 300 or 400 calorie deficit be fine even if it’s less than 1200 calories a day? I understand that most people aren’t as short as I am so I understand why, but it’s kinda frustrating when all the weight loss advice online seems to be aimed at people who burn 1800+ calories a day.

Any advice? Has anyone here had a similarly low calorie need and managed to lose weight? Please tell me your ways!
