I need help..

This is my first ever post here after lurking for a while, so if this isn't allowed let me know.

I have been trying to lose weight for a while and haven't had any luck. The first time I bought into the fads and didn't really know what to so. Unsurprisingly, it failed and I became disheartened.

The second time I had a renewed passion. I joined this sub and other subs. Found my TDE (which is 2200 btw) and lowered my daily limit to 1800. Started going to the gym, eating cleaner food, and sticking to my new limit. I lost a few pounds in the beginning hut hit a wall pretty quickly. I went from 210 - 205 which is where I remain even to this day 9 months later. Nonetheless, I didn't lose hope and kept pushing. I figured the weight loss was being offset by my weightlifting.

However, after months of no progress I became dejected. In a bout of desperation I went to the doctor who said she wasn't sure and referred me to a nutritionist. I was hopeful. I brought examples of my TDE, my usual recipes and quantities, and even showed my months of recordings on MyFitnessPal. Even the nutritionist said she had no idea why I wasn't losing.

This was hard to hear. I was going to the gym 4x a week, only drinking water and coffee (black), and staying well below my caloric limit for months and saw no gains. I know my quantities aren't the issue because I made custom recipes on MyFitnessPal to make it more exact.

Since then I have gone through about two months of "quitting". I still never binge, but I am not being as disciplined as I could and I have also stopped going to the gym. I am still at 205.

For reference my whole family has weight loss problems and my mom even had lap band surgery and she still struggles to lose weight. I'm not sure if my genetics are working against me.

I am hoping for some guidance or tips or something because I do want to lose the weight I just don't know what to do. I am planning to start going back to the gym and I want to try again. I am thinking about dropping my calories to 1600 but that will be tough in order to maintain my protein while strength training.

Sorry that was long, but I think it helps to give context to where I'm at.

Tl;Dr can't lose weight no matter my efforts. Both doctor and nutritionist stumped at my lack of weight loss as well.
