Hello, I am a 20 year old male, going onto 21 in a couple months, 6’0 tall & about 260lbs. I would like to say that would put me in the 25.0-27.5 body fat percentage range. I was really fit growing up and just recently in the last two years I’ve slowly put on 65lbs. I’m tired of being overweight, personally I looked like I aged 15 years from gaining the weight I did. I’ve completely decided for good that being overweight & eating snacks just doesn’t outweigh the benefits & pros of being healthy and fit. So last week I would like to say Wednesday, today’s date is currently 1/19/20, I decided to start the OMAD diet (One Meal A Day).
So my schedule pretty much works as I wake up 5-6AM eat a multivitamin and pack 3 waters and a 46 gram protein drink that I drink on my way to work and then I arrive at work with no packed lunch. I get to work & make a 12oz cup of coffee that contains 2-3 cups of vanilla creamer in them little sealed cup thingys lol. I work a fairly active job I’m on my feet all day, walking back and forth other than my 1 hour lunch, near the end of my lunch I make another same size cup of coffee that contains the same amount of what I stated previously. I lift at my job often. At the end of my shift which is 3:30, I get home at roughly 4:00.
When I arrive home I usually distract myself for an hour wether it may be playing video games or cleaning up around the house or working on stuff in the garage. Around 5-5:30PM I decide to eat. I eat whatever is made for dinner, Today was homemade broccoli noodle cheese soup which was delicious and probably high in cals, sodium & carbs. I filled up your normal smaller size I guess you could say cereal bowl? With two scoops of it. I also have with dinner a 190 calorie gluten free “FitCrunch” bar that contains 16g of whey protein, 3 grams of sugar and 200mg of sodium. Then I go to bed around 11 with no hunger pains and wake up and repeat.
So just for today I would say I probably had around 1200-1400calories today which is what I probably get around every day from eating like I do. Plus the protein that’s in my food, my protein bar & when I go to the gym usually just on weekends for now I take around 100 grams of protein on Saturday and Sunday then workout (when I was fit I use to eat 1.2g of protein per lb I was, now I’m pretty far behind that).
So after describing my entire life basically, Lol. I still have the thought that I am definitely not eating enough in the back of my head & could be very unhealthy for long term. My questions are;
•Should I incorporate a lunch into my day during my Lunch at work to get to about 2000 calories a day?
•Is my diet currently unhealthy compared to my height/weight/to calorie ratio? Which I believe at 260lbs is to maintain weight 3,230 calories a day, for 0.5lb a week loss would be 2,980 cals a day, 1lb would be 2,730 cals a day and 2lbs a week would need me to 2,230 calories a day. ( I understand these numbers change as you lose weight)
I guess I’m just trying to take advantage of how quickly I can lose the weight as I’m more in the obese range then average & as I would get down to around 210-200lbs the weight loss would slow down dramatically.
Feel free to provide whatever opinion or fact you know or can type, haha! Positive energy is asked & I’m eager to learn a bit more about my diet!
