How did perceptions change specifically?

M, 255lbs, 5’11 and half, 26

Basically rn I’m quite frustrated as I’ve improved SO much about myself so far tbh.

I’m running way more, hitting gym, wearing some better clothes, skincare, good hygiene, keeping room clean, better organised, got a good conventions but nice hair and good beard, all well maintained and trimmed and so on. Even dating a bit/trying to.

I’m becoming less pathetic/goofy in my own eyes, but that doesn’t change anyone else’s. I feel better about myself a bit, but I still feel GOOFY.

That’s the right word. I HOPE it’s my weight. Like I’ve always hoped losing that would conclude feeling big and goofy and clownish, but idk anymore.

I see people sometimes who just look hot/respectable. They are cleaner, better dressed still, better bodies ofc, but just sharper as a whole.

I feel like I stumble about and get mocked/looked down upon. Like my physicality is laughable. My weight loss is going okay. 20lbs lost, but that’s over a fair amount of time now and I’ve maintained at this current weight for a while even with the increased exercise. I get it’s all diet but idk, it’s frustrating.

I just want to know if people did 180’s. I want to be that attractive sharp guy. My family are all big and broad and we all have big heads and stuff, and I feel very much that way. Like I like being my height (not even tall but it’s fine) and I don’t hate being broad (could be good with body recomp and muscles, and weight loss ofc) but it just makes me feel so goofy Christ. I feel like Jimmy for GTA 5 (cringe reference) or some other type like that when I want to be more Matt Bomer from white collar or something. Not those references exactly but the difference between goofy and suave.

I used to be prodded in the stomach in school and it still feels like that could be done to me. Or verbally even, like my stomachs so big and I’m so out there in public anyone could do that.

Anyway, feel like I said the same thing over and over there for a bit. Would appreciate advice if people felt the same way.

Seeking weight loss partner!

Hello all~ I’m a 29F, 5’6”, 315 lb and I’m ready to lose this weight for good! I’ve been fat my whole life and actually got down to 155 lb a couple of years ago but gained it all back once I got on psychiatric meds. This time it’s coming off once and for all and I need a friend on the same journey!

I’m planning on doing a calorie deficit of 1,800 to start off and then tapering down to 1,500 where I’ll stay until I reach goal weight. I’ll also be going to the gym 2-3 times a week.

Hopefully I can find people who have a significant amount to lose like me so we can support each other on this similar journey! All I ask is to not message me if you’re a bigot or conservative.

Weight loss and gain

For context I have been “thin” all my life. A few years ago I went through a rough time and gained nearly 50 pounds. I have lost all the weight and have returned to my previous weight that I had been all my life before the weight gain. I had a guy (who has known me before the weight gain and also saw me during the weight gain and now after) say to me that “you worked really hard to lose that weight”. So my question is, do people worry that their partner will regain weight that they previously lost or does it not cross their mind?

Little Tip!

Hey y’all I wanted to share a little tip that has been working for me. So I’m 21 and a college student I have been on my weight loss journey and I mainly only have breakfast and then dinner.

But I have found during dinner that if I eat well doing homework I pace myself a lot more and feel much more full. I can’t even finish a chipotle bowl anymore and I used too easily! So if you’re struggling with pacing or like you don’t feel full maybe do work or homework or something proactive well you eat I may help.

Just wanted to share in case it does help anyone.

Calorie deficit question

Hi everyone.

I recently started a weight loss journey including taking Phentermine to aide with energy and as an appetite suppressant. I am also getting active and hitting 8-10000 steps a day as well.

I have lost 5 pounds total since starting but realized now I am not eating nearly enough food daily for healthy weight loss. I calculated my deficit amount and it comes to 2200 but I am barely making it to 1500 calories a day.

What can I do to get my calories up with healthy foods. Will I immediately gain the 5 pounds I already lost switching now?

Thanks.

Clothing

Hey guys so I’m in a little bit of a pickle. So I am currently working on my weight loss journey. The problem is I really wanna refresh my closet but I’m not in the best financial place for that and I also don’t wanna buy clothing just for it to not fit as well once I do lose weight. I’m also 6’3” so that doesn’t help haha. I guess I’m just curious for anyone who has successfully lost weight at least a decent amount of it how much did it truly change your clothing size.

As of right now I’m an XXL pretty much but I can’t tell if I will end up being closer to an XL once I lose weight as I fit into an L but it’s too short same with XL. I just feel a little stuck

Is it possible to preserve muscles at a 800-1000 kcal deficit?

Hello! Im 19, male, and I weight around 95kgs (started from 99).

My question is, I eat in a 800-1000 calories deficit, can I still preserve muscles? It has been 4 weeks since I started my weight loss seriously and have lost 4 kgs since (I'm on week 5 now). I am losing 0.8-1kg per week, though the first week or two was mostly water weight. I eat 1850kcal daily.

I eat in a 500 calories deficit, and I do my 10k steps so I burn 400-500kcal from that, so that's a 900-1000 combined. I eat 110-130g of protein daily, that includes eggs and chicken breast mostly. I do home bodyweight workout which includes incline pushups, squats, lunges, planks, glute bridges, leg raises and rows with a towel to build my biceps and back. I am doing progressive overload and I do workout 3x a week.

I just can't wait for a year to reach my goal bodyweight that's why I'm in a more aggressive deficit. I don't really have patience because I'm miserable with my current self. My plan has been very sustainable so far and I don't feel any low energy.
