People attitude about weight loss seems off

Just curious, how do you respond when someone tells you that you lost weight and you tell them yes, and that you are on a weight loss journey and you are trying hard and they immediately get shocked and change the subject about how they are desperate to gain weight, and start to tell you that they WOULD GIVE ANYTHING to gain weight, sometimes in a way like: “omg you are trying to lose it but I don’t know what to do anymore to get fat damnn”. And they are not even skinny or fat they are a pretty normal average weight, and I get that its totally their choice but why to bring it in discussion like this, in that context? Like…..dude, if you wanna gain weight I will hand you a list with all the mistakes that made me wanna lose it XD

I dont trust myself.

my whole life i’ve wanted to be thin. i’m 5’6, 183. I was 150 about 2 years ago because I followed cico. then I started binging. now i’ve significantly reduced my binging but keep self sabotaging by overeating. I’ll stick to my deficit for like 2 weeks, see a difference, but for some reason I don’t care about the difference. I just want the motivation that seeing a difference gave me when I was first starting my weight loss journey. why don’t I care anymore? am I defeated? tired? idk but I hate myself and everyone around me knows it. you’d think that would be enough motivation in itself but it’s not.

when to take topiramate?

i’ve heard a lot of side effects about topiramate such as brain fog and sleepiness. i got it through hers for weight loss but i am also a student, is it better to take it at night so that i feel less sleepy during the day? but then will that mean it won’t suppress my appetite during the day?

i am really worried about its impact on my brain function since i’m a full time student and need to study and attend classes. would drinking some caffeine an hour after taking topiramate help to offset some of the side effects? has anyone experienced permanent side effects of topiramate…

i also take wellbutrin and fluoxetine in the morning for severe depression, moderate anxiety, and binge eating disorder.

Any side effects of people taking weight loss medications?

I’m not super obese or anything (200 lbs, 6ft, 30M), just a bit overweight and hoping to look more lean before next summer. I recently got prescribed some weight loss medication. Then I found Ms. Gallagher on Klarity, and she seemed great — but my family keeps telling me to double-check the side effects before starting.

I get that a lower appetite is kind of the whole point, but I’d like to know what else people actually go through on these meds. I’ve seen some say they feel fine, and others mention nausea, fatigue, or weird digestion issues.

I’m not trying to crash-diet or anything, just lose weight steadily and stay healthy. So if anyone’s taken these before, what were the real side effects for you? Did it change your energy, mood, or appetite too much? Would you recommend it, or skip it if you could go back?

Any suggestions?

Hi I’m F18. Rn I’m at my biggest 5’8, 224lbs. I won’t act clueless as to how I got this way because I’ve been researching ways to lose weight since I was 14. My main problem is my consistency. I’ve been dropping workouts more than I’ve been dropping weight and I really want to change that by may because of graduation.

I don’t want to be extremely skinny but my goal is to lose 92lbs. Right now I have a fairly active routine as im fortunate enough to have a gym at my school as it’s apart of my classes regimen but we mostly only have 30 minutes. After school I have work 5 days a week in which I walk minimum 12k steps. My highest step count is 20k steps in a day which I am very proud of but I’m not losing any weight still. I signed up for the gym during the summer but only went twice because of anxiety and work.

I feel like one of my biggest issues is wanting to be organized. There are so many videos out there that I’ve watched that recommend different work out splits and diets and I’m always unsure of what I want to do when I get in the gym at school so I ultimately just use the treadmill.

As for my diet it’s the same. People show “what I eat in day” but have a weight loss that took months to years. Idk what I should eat and I also don’t have very much time to make recipes so I end up skipping meals and put myself into a cycle of starvation and binge eating which is also bad.

I’m looking for stuff that’s convenient but has protein and I can eat it on the go. If there’s anyone who could give me advice or suggestions on how to incorporate a weight loss plan in my schedule please tell me😭

Did getting a coach help you lose weight long term? Please share your experience

I've struggled losing weight for six years now and while I have lost around 50lbs in that time, I'm still about 40lbs away from my goal. I know how to lose weight, I know way too much actually and yet have never managed to really establish healthy routines long term. My weight loss has always been a few months at a time of serious effort and then crashing afterwards and regaining a third or half what I had just lost.

I'm so sick and tired of this cycle but I just can't get myself out of it. For a few months now I've been thinking of getting a coach, mainly for the accountability and to force me to follow a sane program and learn healthy habits that will help me in the long run.

I've reached out to a coach that I like who offers meal plans, training plans and most importantly weekly 1:1 meetings for accountability, feedback or to make changes to the plan. He's also available to chat every day.

Now my question is, does anyone have experience with coaching like this and how did it help you? Did it change things for you instead of doing it on your own? Were you more successful? Did you manage to reach your goal weight? Please share your experiences πŸ™

20M, 95kg, trying to lose it

My biggest problem is diet. I walk between 15k-20k steps most work days, and at least 8k on non-work days. I burn tons of calories doing that, no problem. Then I overeat.

I'm making healthier food decisions, getting a fair bit of protein and 'good stuff' in my diet, and still not losing as fast as I want to. Maybe 0.5kg a week? Considering I'm meeting a calories deficit of at least 1500cal (daily 4000cal burned, 2500cal intake, approximately), I would have expected faster, closer to 1kg, even 1.5kg. Especially considering I am at the start of this. Doesnt it go faster at the start? It's really strange and demotivating to me.

Do I need to increase my calorie deficit even more? Is it perhaps because I've taken to actually drinking water now (2L a day minimum)? Do I need to do exercise alongside this?

I'm desperate, my body is my biggest insecurity and my biggest obstacle with having a better life. Can anybody suggest me anything that could help or be causing slow weight loss?
