Never ending cycle of starting weight loss journeys

I don't even know where to start.

I have "tried" many times to lose weight in the last 6 years and it's always the same thing. I begin my journey, I stop a couple of weeks in or I'm consistent one week and then not the next.

I've hired trainers, dieticians/nutritionists, bought programs, online trainers, joined WW, orange theory, etc. I just never stick to it long enough to see significant results. I'm always hovering at the 170's at 5'7 ft, I just want to lose 30 pounds but it's literally impossible for me it seems.

Has anyone experienced this? I feel like I'm crazy because I just don't understand why I can't be consistent. I'm still a little hopeful I can lose the weight but I've mostly accepted I'm just stuck at this weight.

I will say that hiring my last Dietician/Trainer was great, learned a lot from them and lost a couple pounds but nothing crazy since again I didn't stick to it and couldn't afford to keep paying to continue with them.

The light headedness is getting unbearable

I have lost a bit over 20kg since the end of June. Current weight 66,5kg and height 157 cm so still overweight but at least not obese anymore.

What has been bothering me lately that I’m not sure if it’s weight loss related or not is what i assume is a severe version of light headedness when standing up. I have gotten lightheaded before when standing up. Even had to hold onto counters before until it passes to feel more stable. But at this point I would most likely fall if I didn’t manage to hold onto something because it’s so bad. It lasts way longer too. Sometimes it even feels like I’ve almost lost consciousness. I’m shaking or my body is trying to fall down or something. If regular light headedness is grey where everything is a big blurry this feels like black. I’m honestly getting scared I’m going to pass out next time it happens.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it weight loss related? I have also been working more night shifts during weekends if that might explain it?

Are calories really all that matter in weight loss? Or do macros matter?

Is weight loss really just calories in / calories out? I’ve lost about 100 pounds doing Keto. I still have about 50 to go for my goal weight but I can’t do this diet anymore. The thought of eating any more eggs makes me sick tbh. If I just start tracking calories hard will that keep my progress going? I haven’t had an iced coffee from Starbucks in over a year and I want to start to treat myself every once in a while. While I know it’s fill of sugar, will this stall me if I allow for the 350 ish calories maybe once a week? Currently I haven’t been tracking calories at all, all focus has been on carb count.

Tricks for losing weight and maintaining it?

Im 18 (ftM) 5'8 and 184 lbs. Ive been on testosterone for around 5-ish months now and paired with a recent accident that caused me to have to be sedentary and in and out of the hospital, ive just been putting on pounds. I also have genetically high blood pressure and cholesterol (ever since I was a kid). Just adding to it i have insulin resistance from pcos; just if I needed something else lol

Im looking to get on the lower side of my bmi because it will also help my other comorbidities. (Around 145-150).

I know the main way to lose weight is mostly through diet. Im guessing I should start a deficiency? Im not sure how much since ive never counted calories. Ive already cut out all snacking and only eating at designated meal times.

Im thinking of getting a gym membership. Should I focus on cardio for weight loss? Im totally new to the exercise realm so ill probably do more research into this.

Im just wondering if there are any tips or tricks or even little sayings you all have that help or aid in this journey?

Post weight loss blues?

I’m 20lbs away from my ultimate goal weight and I lost a total of 112lbs. Being so close to the “end” has left me with complicated feelings that I’m struggling to unpack.

Two things that are keeping me from fully celebrating my win:

  1. My face doesn’t look how I thought it would. I can’t recognize myself and it’s a slap in the face that I felt prettier when I was bigger.

  2. I fully committed to my health and weight loss journey this entire year. I worked hard, went to the gym, ate right, etc. My body feels great, and my health is the best it’s been in years. BUT. Now what? I know maintenance will be a thing and I won’t stop working out. And I can just pick another thing to focus on like strength training, but it’s not the same and now that I’ve reached this goal that felt impossible, I feel almost empty? Like I’m losing my purpose (I’m kind of exaggerating but you know what I mean).

Has anyone else felt this way? I’m not necessarily looking for advice, and more so looking for those that have felt the same.

Weight plan thoughts needed

I would appreciate your thoughts on my current weight loss progress.

For the past three weeks, I have felt my weight is not changing. It has been between 208 and 210 lbs. In January, I was at 240. A lot of learning during this process, ups and downs, so my progress has been relatively slow.

Current routine:

  • 1780 calories (134g protein, 59g fat, 178g carbs)
  • 105oz of water
  • 5'5, 210 lbs (today), female
  • I walk between 8-10K steps per day
  • weight exercise 3x a week
  • I tracked everything except lettuce and the 5-6 slices of cucumber (I do track the dressing I use for those). Tho I don't eat a lot of those, just a very small 'side dish'.

Should I be doing something different?

I want to get to 200 lbs by the end of the year. That would put me at 200 lbs. I think I'm just stressing myself for nothing. I have created a good routine where every meal is at least 40g of protein, I eat 20-22g of fiber per day, sleep more than 8 hours, and I have more energy than ever. Set me straight, people.

I need to lose nearly half my body weight

Hello! I’m 26F 6’1” and started working on my weight loss last week, starting at 317lbs. In order to be at a healthy weight for my age and height, I need to weigh 170lbs, which is nearly half my current weight. In the last week, I’ve lose 1.4 lbs being 315.6lbs right now. I’ve tried losing weight in the past and always bailed out due to work stress causing me to be lazy and eat out instead of cooking at home and me believing that one “slip up” invalidated my whole attempt.

After getting my mental relationship with food and where I’m at currently and also having a new, less stressful job, I’m trying again and determined to make it stick. The problem is, the realization that I have to lose nearly half my body weight to be at my goal weight is QUITE daunting. I’m trying to think short term and just go day by day, good food choice by good food choice, but I still can’t help think what an uphill battle this will be.

Does anyone have advice for maintaining a long term weight loss journey? I’m estimating this to take anywhere 1.5-2 years. I appreciate any advice/tips!!
