Recent adhd diagnosis and weight loss

F | 19 | 5’1 | 243lbs I was diagnosed with adhd literally yesterday and I’ve been doing a lot of thinking. I’ve spent the last couple of years trying to work on my health and lose weight. I’ve done a lot of research and I’ve tried so many ways to lose weight including very unhealthy ways (before I got educated). I could never stick with it. I got bored and went back to my old eating habits. I know weightloss is crazy hard but it’s literally been impossible for me to stick with. I really felt like I was just gross and lazy for not being able to lose weight and eat healthier. I feel like I’ve finally cracked the code and I’m really excited for the next couple of months. My doctors want me to try some adhd medication and I’m hoping it gives me what I need to really focus on weight loss and getting healthy. I’ve lost a couple pounds since I started metformin for my pcos so that also helps! If anyone else has adhd and is on a weight loss journey I’d love to hear your experiences! Very open to general advice as well!

Feeling light headed since starting new weight loss regimen

Hi everybody! This is my first time making a post here, although I lurk a lot and this sub has been very motivating. Thank you. I lost 22lbs (188-166) in 2022 by simply doing crossfit 3x a week and walking. I wasn't tracking calories, and eventually I hit a plateau with my weight loss and decided I would need to track. I've also started working out 5x a week. Ever since I've started purposefully trying to restrict my calories/exercising more, I've been feeling light headed from time to time...but the past two weeks have been worse, and I'm just not sure what's going on. I don't heavily restrict carbs. I eat fruit daily and indulge in sweets on occasion. I typically have red meat twice a week. If anybody thinks posting my food logs would help, I wouldn't mind sharing, I'm just not sure how to share images. Has anybody gone through something similar?

I'll post my average cals in/cals out in case that could be helpful. My goal is to be in a 750 calorie deficit a day, but some days I get more or less. Feb 19-25 1331 Cals in-2,157 cals out Feb 26-Mar 4 1514 Cals in-2544 Cals out (this week is on trend to match last week)

Thank you all so much...and on a positive note I lost 5 more lbs in February.

Women’s weight loss and clothes

Not the best community for the post but idk which one to go to; I’ve lost about 30 pounds and clothes fit way more awkwardly than before. Women’s clothing sizes were always inconsistent but going from an 18 and refusing to try a 20 (which I probably needed at one point) down to 14s being too big is so stressful. Jeans are awkwardly baggy in the waist and fit me in the thighs. Torrid clothes are ugly and too expensive. And sizing between stores is so inconsistent. I haven’t been down to a 14 (maybe even 12 bc the Forever 21 14s are too big) in a while so all this fluctuation is stressing me out. Any tips?

How did this guy lose 11 pounds a week?

Hey guys I'm new to the weight-loss journey and just trying to figure out what is a reasonable amount to set my weight loss goal at. For reference, I weight 180, and 6 feet tall, and am trying to get to 150.

How is this even possible? That means he lost 11 pounds a week, or 1.57 pounds a day. If we assume more than 2/3 of that is water weight and muscle, that's still 0.5 pounds of fat a day, which is a calorie deficit of around 1800 calories per day.

From what I've been reading it's normally good to try to aim for a calorie deficit of 500 calories per day. Am I understanding weight loss wrong? Is there more to just a calorie deficit?

I need advice and encouragement!

Hi everyone! I (28f) 5’6 am currently obese and weigh 238lbs. I’ve gained 83 pounds since September 2020. I used to sit comfortably 155-160lbs, and it’s taken such a toll on my self esteem. I’ve always struggled with my weight, I was overweight growing up from like 8-14. Then I had a period from 19-23 where I worked out 3 hours a day, carb cycled and meal prepped etc, which turned into orthorexia. I’ve definitely had disordered eating for years.. anyway— RIGHT NOW, I’m currently intermittent fasting. I do drink my coffee with creamer though, I’m not sure I’m willing to give that up honestly.. I’ve also been walking on the treadmill for 30 min every other day and doing 1.5 miles at 3mph. I’m not sure if I have any metabolic issues or hormone problems, I have a doctor appointment set for April 4th with a new Doctor because my last one was inappropriate😭 I really don’t eat like crap, I eat lean meats and sweet potatoes mostly. I need to cut out the pretzels though, those are my downfall.. What do you recommend ? I really need help, I want to get back down to 155, and I’m willing to put in the work even if it takes a long time, I’d rather a sustainable weight loss rather than restriction and quick weight loss.

Is it normal for birth control to impact your weightloss? I’m debating switching

I’m 132 pounds, 5ft4 and 20F. I’ve been losing weight since May 2022 and have lost almost 35 pounds from 166 pounds. I’ve noticed that within the last three months, my weight loss has gotten incredibly difficult and that because of water retention, my body will hold a few pounds then drop it all the week before and the week of my period.

I’ve been super bloated in my stomach area due to this and have tried a few things to help - but nothing has worked. Last month was bad because my body held onto so much water to the point where I felt very uncomfortable. When it all came off though I was amazed at how lean I looked! I was also really disappointed with my scale results. I made an appointment with my doctor for next week to try and talk about it potential being related to my birth control.

Has any other woman experienced this? I feel like I was doing a good job with my weightloss and now because of all this water retention I feel like I’m not where I want to be physically.

(25M) used to be fit and gained a lot over lockdowns - looking for accountibility!

I always used to be overweight as a kid. In 2018 i went from 110kg -> 89kg in 4 months. It was an amazing transformation.

Life throws curveballs and in lockdown i gained a lot of weight. Ive been addicted to weed due to my own lack of self discipline and gained all of it back.

Stood on my scales and was shocked to find I'm back at 110kg (BMI=30) at 6"1. I'm ashamed and really want to lose it all again.

Anyone in a similar boat want to team up in their weight loss journey?
