full fat yogurt vs non-fat yogurt? which could be better?

hello friends, i hope everyone is doing well and continuing to thrive with our weight loss journeys ❤️ i wanted to ask something on here and see some of your input:

i have seen conflicting information regarding non-fat yogurts, and full-fat yogurts , i am on non fat, as obviously like a lot of us, i am on a calorie deficit, that has been successful, however i was researching and noticed all the benefits the full fat yogurt has, it is definitely higher in calories than the non fat, however with my schedule, i eat a delicious parfait or overnight oats, that i meal prep, i find myself hungry quicker, with the non fat yogurt and my thoughts are that i feel like if i’m hungry i will wind up eating the extra calories anyways, with a snack , so i wanted to buy a tub of full fat, as it’s known to have higher protein and keep me more satisfied. more satisfied = less chance of overeating and consuming even more calories , no matter what yogurt i have , i need to add that i gym mostly everyday. so i will burn it regardless, but i’m trying to be conscious and also try new things! everyone is different and i am still learning . does anybody here eat full fat yogurts and has it also helped you stay full ?

can somebody explain to me like i’m 5 how protein works for weight loss?

hello!!! i hope everyone is well, i’m on my weight loss journey and it’s going great honestly, counting calories, eating clean 95% and i give myself a treat in moderation, all that along with religiously working out has been amazing to be and i’m on the road to 15lbs down. i wanted to ask how does protein contribute to weight loss? out of my own ignorance, i can’t help but think protein will make me gain weight. (i want to lose and tone) but i also hear that it’s great for weight loss and lean muscle, im interested, but i want to know if anyone here personally used protein powder :)

I need help losing 80-90lbs.

Hey reddit, I’m a 5’6 248lb female, despite some efforts I haven’t been able to lose weight. I have PCOS which makes this journey even harder. I just keep gaining and gaining and I can’t sustain healthy habits long enough to lose more than 5-6lbs at once. My biggest weight loss was -28lbs and I gained over half of it back. I don’t believe I’m capable of losing more than 5lbs long term which keeps me stuck. I can’t even imagine having the super power of losing 50+lbs. I don’t want to get a gastric sleeve, I love food and I don’t want to be limited to two carrots a meal tbh. I’m done with the flopping, I think I just need some motivation.

Going out with some friends tonight for dinner and I’m already at like 1500 calories for the day…..like what the hell do I do. I don’t know how to do this and I don’t believe I’m capable. I don’t want to see my weight go ANY higher. This weight has wrecked me, I’m so embarrassed to go out tonight and everyone seeing how I just keep gaining and gaining it’s so embarrassing I just want to die.

How do I do this? How do I stick to 1500-1700 calories? Everytime I think I’m around there boom I’m at 2100. I can’t do this. I need help. I don’t believe I can do this with PCOS. Done being fat.

Help on how to lose breast fat

I’m 18, female, 5’2 and 55kg. I’m trying to get it down to 50kg or less and lose as much breast fat as possible, hopefully down to A cups but I’m not sure how to go about it to get them to shrink without sagging.

Any tips would be appreciated as this is my first weight loss journey and I have no idea how to start or what to do. I started maybe a month or so ago and haven’t noticed any change on my physique at all. Honestly it feels like I’ve gained more weight lately even though I’ve been trying to implement a calorie deficit into my diet.

I’ve tried drinking green tea and cutting sugar out like I’ve been instructed but still nothing. I want to add exercises to my routine but I don’t know which ones would actually work without making me look bulky. I heard Pilates and HIIT workouts work but I’m a little skeptical.

Any kind of help will be great.

How Badly We Have to Want It

Found out earlier this week that an injury that happened a few weeks ago is actually a lot more severe than initially thought and is going to nix any "unnecessary" walking for the next 6-12 months. I have to wear supportive shoes all the time now when I'm up and moving (no more going around my house barefoot/sockfoot). Any exercising needs to be off my feet. And again, absolutely no "extra" walking or heavens-forbid running.

I'm pretty sure my ears and brain both stopped working for a minute at this point because of the shock. I've been gradually working my way up to 20k steps a day (I was at 13.5k so far as of last week). Now it's off my feet (specifically the right one) except when I absolutely need to be??? Most of my non-workout daily activity is walking! Walking helped loads with my recent weight loss so this update felt crushing. I've had a really well structured, thought-out, and successful plan I've been following. Well Monday morning at 8am it went straight out the window.

Normally this would have fully derailed me. I'm talking full-on F it. No type of exercise at all and emotional eating for the next 6-12 months. Huge set back. But... I really want it this time. I'm already almost 10 weeks in on this attempt at getting back in shape. People notice. I can't give up this time because it's gonna look like actual failure if I do.

Well frick. Okay. New plan.

Yoga, resistance training, and Pilates has to take place off my feet... Fine, I'll just do all the non standing stuff. I can't walk or run and I'm not allowed to use the elliptical for several months at least but recumbent biking is still okay so long as it's not at a high resistance... Alright, I'll do more of that. Swimming is fully approved as cardio. ~grumbles~ I don't want to swim but fiiine. Fine, fine, fine. Either give up Water Aerobics or heavily modify and wear super supportive water shoes. ~orders the stupid shoes~

Despite the walking being axed blow and the major irritants of everything else, I only slipped with my exercise routine and nutrition for about 5 days. I've regrouped, ordered new shoes, learned how to properly wrap my foot, and have started getting back on track as of today. And if life throws me any more hurdles this year, I'll figure it out. Because that's how badly I want it this time. That's how badly, I think anyone has to want it. Life will never run out of curve balls so we can't run out of perseverance.

Gave myself a small treat yesterday because I'm now officially at my lowest weigh in the last 10 years!

Shared a bottle of wine with my mom 🥂

SW: 209lbs (95kg), CW: 187 lbs (85kg), GW: 163 lbs (74kg)

Before the pandemic i was 189 lbs (86kg) and that was the lowest I've been since i started checking my weight. The pandemic fucked me up physically and mentally. Staying at home was not good for me haha. I got used to eating a lot and also ordering food.

At one point i was 220+ lbs (101+ kg). I didn't even notice it because I was just sitting and sleeping and nothing else. After offices opened again it hit me. i was extremely out of shape. I couldn't climb a flight of stairs without breathing heavily. I just felt like shit.

Last year since Jan I managed to get down to 209lbs / 95 kg by going on evening walks but i got really serious about weight loss since November last year and started with IF and exercise.

Now i look forward to Friday mornings because that's when i check my weight!

Thanks to this subreddit and also /r/progresspics both of which i check regularly for motivation and wholesomeness!

How to approach a 10 kg/22 lbs weighloss without counting calories

For context: I am 25F, I weight 75kg (165lbs), 1,70 height (5'7) . Based on that I understand I'm just slightly overweight, so it's not a huge problem in my life. The thing is since the pandemic I gained around 8 kg and I'm cotinuing to put on weight, slowly but surely. I would like to lose that weight, I guess the exact number of kg that I lose is not important, but at least 8 I think. I would also like to get my nutrition on check long term, as well as be more active to feel better in my body (I used to enjoy exercise). I had several attempts at weight loss, before and after the weight gain, but non stick. I tend to get obsesive about it and focus too much on the scale and on my apearence. I would like to avoid that and just focus on feeling better, but also make real and lasting changes. Counting calories doesn't really work for me.

My questions are: how do I approach this? What changes should I make? Should I try to avoid the scale altogether and just focus on food and exercise? Should I set a time frame for my goal? I don't know
