2 hour workouts or 1 hour workout twice a day with one being fasted cardio?

F, 23, 162cm, 77kgs

I mostly do 2 hours medium intensity workouts or 1 hour medium-high intensity workouts. I want to put very serious effort towards exercise for next 8 weeks. Is it better to do 1 hour medium intensity fasted cardio in the morning and 1 hour hiit in the afternoon. Or, do both of them together? Like 1 hour hiit and then mid-intensity cardio together?

Is there any difference between calories burned in a fasted state than exercise after eating?

If I exercise after eating, does my body really burn calories only from the meal I had and not help in overall weight loss?

I already eat pretty healthy most of the time and am planning to do intermittent fasting. I normally eat dinner around 7pm, and it is mostly 500 cals with protein, vegetables and carbs. I normally have low blood pressure, will I be able to workout as energetically as in the afternoon?

I have tried morning workouts but if it was going on a walk with others, it was ok, but it made me extra tired the whole day. Plus I have morning college and cannot eat before 12 noon. How much time will it take to get used to the routine?

Could i achieve the same benefits from mini elliptical to do 10k steps?

I want to continue my weight loss journey and I have the most success by completing 10k steps or more daily. I want to complete these steps in the morning before i go to uni. Usually, i would go outside but now that its winter i dont feel comfortable walking around in the dark at 5am.

Im planning to use a mini elliptical like these but would like to hear any thoughts about whether you think it would provide the same beneifts as a regular 10k walk. Also, do you think that my the 'steps' would be picked up and coutned on my apple devices?

Down 11lbs and I’m so happy

I (25F) have been trying to loose weight for about 4 years and could never loose more than 5 pounds without giving up and gaining more. I started at 211 in May and today I weighed in at 200.

It’s a slow journey for me, as I eat in a deficit for a couple months then take a break by maintaining my weight (to avoid loosing motivation by restricting myself too much, this is why I gave up before), but I’ve learned to accept myself at every point in my journey and accept that I have to take it slower than others to stay on the right track and that’s okay!

I was looking at the photo of myself from May that sparked this weight loss journey and compared it to a photo taken today and I visibly look slimmer! My clothes fit better, I dropped about 2 BMI points and 3 more pounds and I’ll be out of Obese Class 2 and into Obese Class 1!! I’m also more confident already! I used to read the success posts here and truly believed I would never be able to post some of my own, I’m so happy to be able to do that and look forward to posting more! :)

YSK: insurance coverage of MD appointments/medications pertaining to weight loss

Just want to warn people if you are going to talk to your MD about weight loss check with your insurance company first to make sure they cover weight loss as a benefit. Also it's up to your employer if they want to cover "weight loss" on a workplace plan.

I scheduled an appointment with a Dr for what I thought was going to be my annual physical that is supposed to fully covered by insurance per ACA. I have BCBS regence and $25/office visit copay. My previous PCP at this clinic had quit so I was seen by a new Dr. She said this was like a preliminary visit since she hadn't seen me before, not the actual physical. I had my labwork done previously so brought that in for her to look at. My A1C was slightly elevated and she said that I was prediabetic but it could be managed with carb restrictions/weight loss. She wrote a script for one of those diabetic injections that also work for weight loss (can't remember the name). I go to fill it at the pharmacy and they tell me it's not covered as my insurance does not pay for anything related to weight loss. A few weeks later I get a denial letter that they would not pay for the office visit either. I called my insurance and they said it was denied since it was related to weight loss but to call the Dr and ask her to use a different code for the visit. That was just today so I left a message and haven't heard back yet. I just can't believe it.

Confused about cardio

In my previous post, I talked about how I’m in a plateau despite being in a calorie deficit (yes counting everything even sauces, oils, and no bites and licks all in grams), weightlifting 4 times a week (not new so I don’t think it’s beginner gains or water retention), and doing cardio 6 days a week (20 mins on weightlifting days and an hour the other two days). Too much information but might be needed for your advice and judgement!

I know smartwatches suck with counting calories from exercise so I usually just use it as a baseline of what I at least want to burn in a day while in a calorie deficit.

My question is, am I doing too much cardio? The answers I’m getting on google aren’t clear. Some say too much cardio hinders weight loss some say it accelerates it. I’ve read that it might be counterproductive doing too much but how do I know I’m doing too much?

Generally speaking, I try to keep my heart rate around 145-160 while doing cardio (is that too much it too little?)

Eating from 1500-1750 calories a day. If I’m sedentary I should be losing at least 0.25kg in a week if all week 1750 and 0.5 if 1500.

I’m still somehow discouraged over this long plateau that I overate yesterday (trying not to feel guilty and go right back to my routine)

F 22, 79.6kg, 178cm

Thank you in advance!

Edit: I also at least walk 10k steps a day.

Gender Fuckery and Weight Loss

Hey everyone,

I'm an AFAB (assigned female at birth) trans masc individual, and as I've been losing weight, I've found that I keep getting misgendered. Only one person has noticed I've lost weight and they don't know I'm trans, so I don't know if it's visible clearly or more of a subconscious thing.

So how do I lose weight and maintain that kind of blob shape/ attain a more masc shape so I stop getting called she? I'm doing a lot of weight lifting but I've also seen that give a feminine shape to afab people, so I'm not sure

Anyone who walks for weight loss?

I love walking, And I've read that it's better to walk in a pace of a km under 10 minutes 30 seconds. And I can do that. But the thing is, It's not a big deal for me, I can easily do that, My heartbeat doesn't go up, Sometimes I don't even break a sweat, I try to walk 6 kms a day, Twice a day.

Can somebody who is into walking for calorie burning who knows more than me here tell me if I'm doing something wrong?
