Request: I have a beach vacation coming up in less than a month. Can anyone suggest a good work out to kinda kick my butt and shape me up a bit?

I am a 23 yo F that’s 5’6 and weigh 168 pounds.

I used to be 130-140 and I have let myself go over this past extremely stressful year.

I am good at keeping a 1200-1300ish calorie diet and can be strict with it. I already lost 6 pounds in the past month with some cheat days since my best friend is about to move out of town we’ve been enjoying ourselves a bit (she leaves forever Sunday)

I am looking to supplement my diet with exercise that will kick my ass to help tone me up a bit or add a bit more to my weight loss so I can look good in my bikinis.

I’m hoping to lose at least get down 160 by the end of July.

Does anyone have any good recommendations? YouTube videos? Links to good exercise regimes?

I am currently working from home with a job that has a lot of flexibility and don’t have a gym membership but I got sneakers, a Fitbit, and plenty of workout gear at home.

Half way to my goal weight!

Hey guys, just wanted to make a post to say that i’m half way there!! I’m F21 163cm (5’3) SW:74.5kg CW:64.5kg GW: 55kg.

I recently haven’t been putting as much effort into my exercise and diet since i’ve had exams for the past month. I was pretty much sedentary and wasn’t very strict with my calories in June. I hadn’t weighed myself for the past 3 weeks but today I went on the scale and I was at 64.5kg. I started my weight loss journey about 3 months ago and was initially very strict and was doing keto. I realised as the month went on that keto just wasn’t for me and have just focused on CICO for the past 2 months. If anyone has just started, I just want to let you know that you don’t have to be so hard on yourself and you can treat yourself once in a while. This month I want to start running and incorporating some exercise back into my routine. I‘ve never really been a runner so if anyone has any advice it’ll be much appreciated!!

Proud of my stretch marks after getting active!

I am sorry if this is the wrong place for such a post, but I am just so excited and happy, I felt like telling the world!

I, like many people as of recent, decided to start losing weight. I just woke up one day and decided I was tired of being depressed and making excuses. I started following a program and watching what I eat, and I have slowly started to see progress. My opinion of my own worth has always been heavily linked to my weight.

I thought I would be even more ashamed of my stretch marks upon losing weight, but I have surprisingly become proud of them. I was skinny as a child, then rapidly put on weight due to circumstances and have been miserable for 10+ years because of it. I see my stretch marks as a symbol of all I have been though, and a reminder to myself to never be like that again. I used to see them as ugly scars, but now I look at them like the stripes of a strong, powerful tiger.

If anyone else here is ashamed of their stretch marks because of rapid weight gain then slow weight loss, I hope I made you feel a little better about them. ♡

Weight loss journey so far

Hey everyone! long time lurker if the sub so thought I’d bite the bullet and make a post.

So a little about me first, when I was 19 I played university rugby and was in great shape weighing around 225lbs (I’m 6’2). Few weeks in a snapped my ankle and got a high ankle sprain as well so there goes my scholarship (I know I’m a walking cliche aha). End up dropping out for family reasons and moving home but without a uni education and other personal reasons I got depressed and next thing I know I hit 300lbs on the scale at age 26. At that point I decided to start working out and getting back to the 220-230 range since my buddies wedding was coming up and being a groomsman I wanted to look my best.

With the pandemic going on the wedding got pushed back to November, which gave me plenty of time to meet my goals. Currently been running for about a month and down to 285lbs! Just running 5-6times a week for 5km, smaller portions sizes and only drink water and coffee now aha. I set up a home gym so next week gonna start incorporating that into my workout.

Just wanted to share my journey so far with you guys! I see amazing stories on hear nearly everyday and thought I’d take a minute to share mine. In the coming weeks I’ll post a before and after pic when the loss is more noticeable aha.

TLDR was in great shape 7 years ago, hit 300lbs, decided to get back to 220lbs for my buddies wedding in November, lost 15lbs so far in a month.

Everything matters

When I think about my weight loss journey, it's so easy to dismiss the small things that I either do without thinking or do because that day at that time they seemed easy. Everything is a choice I make and it all adds up. I posted here a while ago in a moment of sadness and the loveliest person took time to respond and something they said to me is something I have repeated to myself every day since; comparison is the thief of joy. Now in my post I was talking about my slim mum and sisters but now I also think about myself - when I last felt x or did y... I could drive myself crazy thinking about how some days all the choices seem easy and some days I just want to eat all the chocolate in the house. While good days in the past help to fuel my determination to get to my goal, I also have to focus on each day as it comes, each decision I make about food or exercise and realise that overall it all matters and for now, its all going the way I want it to. It may be slower than for some because I made the decision not to cut out things like daily treats for now, but the scale is showing a smaller number each week, and my clothes feel nicer and more comfortable each time I wear them. That one post from that lovely person has stuck with me, and I read through so many loseit posts and am blown away by the support you guys show each other. One choice at a time!!

Lost 30 lbs! ...And my period...

Hey guys, I've been sort of lurking on this subreddit for quite a while, and decided that I'd only make a post once I've reached my goal weight, which I finally did about a week ago! I'm 5'3" and I'm 110 lbs, down from 140. I know it's not the biggest loss, but I've been trying for three years to lose this weight so I'm pumped.

The downside is that I'm also a month late for my period. It was super light the past two times, and now it hasn't come at all. I'm definitely not pregnant, and I can't think of anything else that could have caused this except for the weight loss. I felt like I lost the weight pretty slowly (.5-1 lb per week) and I usually ate around 1,100 calories every day. Now I've started maintenance and am eating 1,500 calories a day and my weight hasn't changed aside from small, daily fluctuations.

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm reluctant to see a doctor during COVID, but I'm also starting to get a little worried. This is the first time something like this has happened to me.

I knew I shouldn’t have, but I did a cleanse... mad regrets.

Has anyone tried a cleanse in the middle of your weight loss process and found that it completely stunted your progress?!

SW 186, CW 162, GW 130

I lost 20lbs in about a month and a half, mainly through exercise at first. After the first 10lbs (mostly water weight), I began to restrict my caloric intake in addition to working out. I wasn’t calorie counting until a few weeks ago- I measure everything and count all the oils and spices too- if anything, I tend to log a smidge, really, just a smidge larger measurements than I actually eat just to be on the safe side.

A couple weeks ago, a friend talked me into doing a dumb Isagenix cleanse for 9 days. It’s a total of 4 “cleanse days” (2 towards the beginning, 2 at the end) where all you consume is water, their liquid cleanse mix, and a few approved snacks (conveniently all Isagenix products... I didn’t buy the extra crap and mainly just stuck to 5-7 soaked almonds). The rest of the days are “shake days”- you eat two meals of their protein shake plus 1 normal meal of 400-600 calories.

Even with the less calorie intake during the 9 days, the scale barely budged at all in comparison to the level of progress before. I think I lost 3-4 pounds in total. I mean, it’s not bad, and TBH, my goal for the cleanse wasn’t to lose a ton of pounds, I was more trying to rewire my brain in regards to snacking and emotional eating (I was starting to get a wee bit loosey goosey right before the cleanse.)

Now, I’m off the cleanse and eating normal foods again- still making healthy choices. Still counting calories and back to working out diligently. But for some reason, I’m just straight up gaining the pounds! Well, lie. I gained a couple back and am hovering about 2-3lbs above where I was at the end of the cleanse, which was 160... it’s been two weeks of this nonsense! I wonder if this is because I was consuming at such a deficit on the cleanse that now, any caloric intake is not “deficit” enough for my body... sounds like ridiculous logic, I know... and I know this is probably just a temporary stunt, but I still feel defeated and discouraged. I know my calorie input is lower than my output because not only am I already eating at deficit (1,000-1,300 calories a day), I also burn a ton of calories daily - anywhere from 700 to 1,200 (numbers according to my Apple Watch, which I like to consider a bit higher than what my actual calories burned probably is, again, to be on the safe side).

I’m probably discouraged for nothing. I’m doing all I can, and even introduced 16:8 IF this week (failed twice already 😂). I’m sure the scale will move again soon... I guess long story short, DONT DO STUPID CLEANSES. They’re just a money-making gimmick... 500% regret doing that cleanse...
