I have been in maintenance since June 2024, after losing quite a bit of weight.
It’s been a journey to get here, the maintenance portion has been a lot of learning. But generally my life is my life these days, and I don’t pay too much attention to the fact that I lost a lot of weight a while ago.
This past weekend I dug out some of my fall/winter clothes from last year, and had a nice little zing that they all fit.
This morning, I picked out a dress to wear that I really liked, and I was driving to work, drinking my coffee, and thinking about how nice it was to wear that dress from last year.
Then it hit me…pre weight loss, wearing clothes from last year, and sometimes even season to season wasn’t a thing. Because they usually didn’t fit when I pulled last years things out. Then I’d go through a little tailspin of anger at myself for gaining weight, why couldn’t I look after my weight, should I keep these clothes “in case I lose the weight someday, etc”. It was generally not a nice, fun activity.
The drama-less happiness of taking out last years clothes, and they are still just my clothes…is something else. A nsv even this far into maintenance, it happens. :)
