I (23f) have lost 31lbs in the last year mainly by staying in a pretty steep calorie deficit and incorporations more movement into my day (stairs instead of elevator, an extra walk here and there). It’s been slow, sustainable, and has improved my mental health and physical wellbeing. I am still wanting to lose another 30-40lbs, but I think I’ve found myself at a kind of fork in the road. The app I was using to track all of my calories, movement, and chart my weight loss totally glitched out and I lost all of my data. When I redownloaded it, it doesn’t allow me to input or save meals, etc anymore. I’ve investigated the technology issue and have googled the problem but it seems like this is too new to have a readily available solution. Additionally, for the past 3 weeks it has been extremely difficult to continue in my caloric deficit. I find that I’ve been eating maintenance calories for the past few weeks and therefore have not continued to lose weight. (I am not gaining weight either, so I suppose it’s not a total loss).
I guess I’m just having a hard time deciding if I need to change my plan to be more efficient in my weight loss/fitness journey. Do I adjust the deficit? Do I continue with just cardio, or should I move to heavy lifting? (Up to this point I’ve avoided heavy lifting because it’s not my favorite and I find it slowed my weight loss for several months when I was doing it, although I realize it will be necessary for composition later) Do I just keep on with what I’ve been doing?
TL;DR: how do you change/adjust your weight loss plan as you progress?
