90 Weight Loss Challenge 2: Electric Boogaloo

I've never actually posted before/after photos before, but I did a 90 day weight loss challenge after losing 100 lbs last year. It went well relatively speaking:

It turned into a 100 day challenge so that I could hit onederland and I actually got down to 195. It was glorious. I did it in preparation for going back to school. School has added stress, and that stress has lead to breaking commitments to maintain my weight loss. It's now a year later and as of today I am back at 266.

Here is my new before photo:

I recognize long-term commitments to maintaining weight loss is my problem, but it's a problem a can't fix right now. Right now, all I can do is get back to where I was, and then hope through the habits I do build from today on, that I will be in a better place to maintain. I knocked it out of the park last time, and quite honestly, I don't expect it to come as easily this time around. Back then I had already lost 100 lbs, I had momentum, my only other commitment was to my job. My rules are the same as last time:

  • Keto @ 50grams of carbs /day
  • Intermittent fasting at 20:4
  • Maintaining a habit of waking up at 5AM everyday
  • Maintaining a habit of positive thinking and healthy stress relief.
  • 0 cheat days over the 90 day period

Added on to this are my goals for school. This is the focus. I hope to either update this thread, or make a new one. I'm doing this in preparation for my sisters wedding, I'm supposed to walk her 1.5 year old daughter down the isle. It will be great no matter what happens, and I hope to share it with you folks here.

On December 3rd of 2018, I weighed in at 248.2 lbs. Yesterday, I officially reached my goal by getting to 178.2 - 70 pounds lost. It's not as daunting as you'd think.

I have not stepped into a gym once. I'm not sure I've done a single pushup. I did not have to radically alter my life.

Weight loss was all about what I ate. I didn't have to do anything complicated. I didn't count calories or follow a specific diet plan.

For me, complicated plans depressed me. What ended up clicking for me was intermittent fasting. Literally as simple as it gets: between these hours, just don't eat.

I stopped eating late at night, breaking the cycle of poor eating leading to poor sleep leading to poor mood leading to poor eating, over and over again.

Don't let yourself believe you need a grand plan. The journey starts with one decision. I never thought I'd be here. I saw posts like these and felt depressed. If I can do it, you can too.

Iced Coffee Obsession

Hey guys! (19F SW: 179 CW: 161.4)

I don’t know if this could help anyone else but one of my favorite things on this planet is iced coffee, I have an addiction, which is unfortunate because a lot of Starbucks and Dunkin’s iced coffees have 400+ calories per drink.

Going cold turkey on iced coffee is really hard, especially since I got accustomed to drinking them at least once a day, and even more so since I work right next to a Starbucks.

Lately I’ve been getting the Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew, which satisfies my cravings for only 110 calories for a Grande & it tastes pretty good! :)

I’ve been a long time lurker on this sub, and this is my first post. I make sure to stop by at least once a day & this is the first time I’ve actually followed through with weight loss, so thank you all for everything!

Support/Accountability group for a F28 who is trying to permanently lose weight after years of yo-yoing?

Hello people!

So, shortly. I have a long history of weight losing. I have been on a diet since I was 14 (that's half of my life!) so I definitely know how to lose weight. The problem is that my methods are (provenly so) not very sustainable. I am extremely tired of all kinds of quick fixes and rapid weight losses and this time I feel like I have the energy and patience to do it differently. Slowly and steadily. I am aiming to lose about 15kg going from 75 to 60 maybe in a time of a one year or so. Definitely not aiming to lose more than 0,5kg per week. :)

Is anyone here interested in forming a support group for people who want to make a lifestyle change rather than going on for just one more crazy diet again? People who want to do this for real and for the last time ever!!? My plan is simple: I am going to eat regular meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner and a snack a day) and follow MFP's calorie recommendations. I am aiming to be active every day but not to measure my portions with a scale, so it's going to be a bit of a questimation. ;P

Anyone else interested in a Facebook group or something where we could share and report our successes and struggles and journeys?

Upping my calorie intake from 1500 to 1700 because I’m getting burnt out on counting– what are your thoughts?

Background: I’ve been strictly counting calories for over a year. I’ve lost on average 90lbs, and I have a goal to lose about 30-50 more. Right now, I have been falling off the deep end and eating over every other day for the past week or two. Today I decided that instead of messing up every other day, I’d like to give myself some breathing room. 200 doesn’t seem like a lot, but it makes such a huge difference when you want a snack at the end of the day. Life has been hectic lately, and I’m trying to make a smarter decision on how to handle my bad habit of going to food to relieve stress (even though I know it doesn’t help anyway). It, of course, will slow down my weight loss. I’m okay with that though, because I know I’ll meet my goals eventually.

I’m partially making this post just to put out there how I’m feeling and partially to ask for opinions. My TDEE is 2005, so 1700 still puts me at a deficit. Long term calorie counters, what do you do when you get burnt out on counting calories? Thanks so much for reading!!

Weight loss help!

I have lost about 50 pounds since September of 2019, but have now been stuck since the beginning of January, fluctuating between 195-200. Mostly, to lose those 50 pounds, I just started eating a lot less, stopped drinking sodas, and began a job that required me to move a lot. My question is, should I try to add a little more to push my body to lose more weight? For instance, I would like to do OMAD (keto), 15 minutes of cardio (4-5 days a week), and strength training (just using body weight like pushups and squats until I can get my weight lower). Would this ultimately be a good idea? I seem to carry most of my weight on my back and my stomach and hip areas, which really bugs me. My goal weight is 125 if that matters.

Anyone find out they were pregnant in the middle of their weight loss journey?

I lost 100lbs before becoming pregnant with my first (220-118). Gained 70lbs with him. He’s 6 months now and I was 25lbs away from my pre-pregnancy weight. Found out my IUD failed and am now 9 weeks pregnant with my second.

Anyone else find out they were pregnant in the middle of losing weight? How did/are you coping and what changes did you make? I was kind of getting off track anyway so I’m really trying to reality check myself back into some healthy habits before I gain 70lbs again. I’m hoping for minimal weight gain but I’m also not going to fight my body since back to back pregnancies are hard enough as it is.

I’m thinking of eating to maintain and then starting back at the gym? Just some lightweight exercise because I recently quit my job to be a SAHM and was working 12 hour shifts on my feet before. I’ll add in some extra calories during the 2nd and 3rd trimester. Any tips would be appreciated! I know pregnancy isn’t the time to worry about weight loss.... I guess my goal is to not backslide like I did with my first?
