Do you guys log abrupt weight losses? (Like 2lbs over night)

I’m 115lbs into my journey and I still don’t know how anything works 😂 not really but here’s my question- I weigh myself daily just because I like to collect data on how certain foods effect my water weight :) however sometimes I’ll weigh like example today I’d have weighed 185 for 4 days and then just drop to 183 this morning. I always log it but I struggle with it. Am I supposed to log it? Is it real weight loss?? Have I been 183 the whole time?? I don’t LOOK different than yesterday. I feel like an imposter. A lot of times until I’m -10lbs in I convince myself its water because I feel like I’m lying to myself. Anyone else relate? Do you guys also log the abrupt drops or do you ignore them until they become bigger?

How to make weight loss effortless: Volume Eating 101

Most people struggle to lose weight due to the simple fact that they get hungry.

Why do we get hungry?

Hunger hormones" (ghrelin) in your blood and an empty stomach signal the brain when you're hungry. Nerves in the stomach send signals to the brain that you're full, but these signals can take up to 20 minutes to communicate -- and by that time, you may have already eaten too much.

Simply put, if your stomach is not filled with a lot of volume, you will be hungry.

Imagine with me for a second 1500 calories of McDonalds. Probably a big burger, some fries, and a coke. Sounds about right.

Now, imagine 1500 calories of vegetables. Can you even IMAGINE how many pounds of vegetables that will be? I doubt you'll be able to finish it even if your life depended on it.

The key to effortlessly losing fat is to choose foods that you enjoy that are relatively low in calories, while still eating your cravings in moderation.

This will mostly be vegetables and fruits, as they are extremely low in calories compared to anything else.

The key is to experiment with all vegetables and fruits. Try out different recipes and ways that they can be made. The wonders that can be done with them are endless. Here's an example of a super amazing volume food:

Strawberries

Can you imagine that ONE strawberry is just 4 CALORIES?!

That means you can eat a kilogram of strawberries and only be at 320.

Meanwhile, a bag of chips can reach 400 calories. A huge one can even be 1000 calories!

So, to summarise this, be more conscious of what you put into your stomach. You can still eat chips and pizza, but be sure to make space for vegetables and fruits as they will help out with the inevitable hunger.

Ever since discovering this, It's felt like I've been bulking rather than trying to lose weight. It truly is a life-changer.

Please don't substitute everything in your diet with vegetables and fruits as you still need other nutrients.

Good luck with your journey!

Won my recent weightloss competition!

My friends and I put together a weight loss challenge for our selves and I won!

It was broken into two parts but ultimately the person who lost the most weight by the final weigh in won. There was also a secondary prize for the person who hit 170 first. I didn't get there first but ended up being the most consistent over the course of entire thing.

It was a ton fun but I don't think I'll be doing that again made me a bit too focused on the number but I learned a lot going through it. Mainly i used keto and intermittent fasting along with my fitness pal to keep track of macros and calories in.

just before the start and half way through

about a week before weigh ins

I actually didn't get a picture the day of the weigh ins and we imeadietly went out to eat and partied all day. Haha

Rant: The world was made for taller people

I hope I'm not breaking any rules since this is my first time posting here but I want to go on a little rant in case others have the same issues.

So I started CICO about a month ago to lose some weight. I've been overweight for as long as I can remember, so I'm excited to lose it and become a new person. HOWEVER.

My SW: 165lbs (estimate based on when I went on a scale last). CW: idk (don't have a scale but I lost 2.5 inches off my tummy so that's cool). GW: 120 lbs.

Now you might be thinking, OP, that starting weight is nothing that's my goal weight, what are you talking about, do you have an eating disorder??? Nope.

I am a 5ft tall female gendered 22 year old.

Yep. Tiny little hobbit over here who can look at your kneecaps at eye level and needs a step stool to put away the dishes.

My rant is basically on how little calories I need to actually sustain myself. Y'all, I love food, and I eat about the same as most people. Problem is I am tiny, and so regular portion sizes for others are supposed to be more then enough for me. But I like food too much not to finish my plate.

When I started CICO, myfitnesspal was like "okay cool you need 1200 calories a day if you wanna lose 2 lbs a week". TWELVE HUNDRED CALORIES YALL. That's nothing. Like no, I like food too much for this. My friends were worried that I was starving myself and that "thats the calorie intake of a child" until I had to remind them that I am indeed the size of a child.

Anyways yeah, that was my rant, how hard it is to lose weight when your short and how easy it is to put it on in the first place. I'm the shortest person I know in my life (well other then actual children but I digress), so hopefully other shorties who are losing weight can relate.

Good luck on your weight loss y'all, especially all the shorties out there like me. Solidarity with our tiny portions!!!

35M 5'10" 260 Lbs Are my results TOO GOOD so far?

So this is my first time posting as this is my first time really taking weight loss seriously.

After my gf and I tried many a fad diet and failed miserably, we decided to take a simpler approach and just cut daily calories.

We started last Monday and I've been really surprised/shocked at the results so far. It's also been surprisingly easy to do.

I started at 269 and am now down to 260. My goal is 185. I'm actually feeling better already too.

I am on a 1500 calorie daily limit. Working out is barely 20 mins of light cardio 2 days a week, with a new elliptical coming this week to start using more consistently.

So my questions are these..

I was planning losing maybe 1-2 lbs per week, so while having lost almost 10 lbs in just over a week has me motivated should I be concerned? Or is this normal for starting out? Should I expect to plateau soon? How do I avoid yo-yoing? Etc

Any guidance is appreciated! Thanks!

I'm frustrated and depressed over my plateu since april

28/F

SW: 168 CW: 147.8 GW 1: 130 GW 2: 120 5'2"

I still don't have anything positive to post here . I have tried a couple new things for weight loss.

I've done two rounds of Prolon but gained all my weight loss back.

I adjusted my calories as there was some suspicion I wasn't eating enough so I've gone to 1400 from 1200cals per day.

I meal prep lunch and dinner and I don't eat breakfast as I'm still on IF 16:8.

I work out 3-4 days a week , 2x a day. In the morning I do 15 mins of HIIT. At night I do 30- 40 mins of strength training.

I am still unable to break my plateau I've been in since April. Is it possible that I'm unable to lose any more weight and this is the weight I should be? I'm at a loss . When did you realize you were at the end of your weight loss journey ? If this is really the end of the line for me I need to know. Or am I missing something in my routine? I mentally cannot take this anymore so its either be happy with my results and end it now or do something new. Any advice is appreciated for either 00approach.
