When you reduce your deficit but lose more weight anyway

So I was feeling kinda off this week. I was super tired and I just didn’t have the energy to do the workouts I usually do so I decided to increase my daily calorie intake by about 200 daily for the week and stop exercising to give my body a bit of a rest. I was expecting this to slow down my weight loss by around a half pound for the week and I was totally okay with that. I had been extremely regular in losing about 1.5 pounds a week for the last 3 months of my weight loss journey and I figured losing 1 pound instead of 1.5 was a totally fair trade off for letting my body have a bit of rest. I also ate more carbs then usual because I felt like my body was craving a low effort energy source. Well, I stepped on the scale today and mind you, I fully expecting that I may have gained from water weight because of the carbs. Guys… I dropped 2.2 pound this week. That’s the most I’ve dropped in months. I’m guessing it has something to do with cortisol causing me to hold some extra water, so I know it’s not technically all fat loss, but a win is a win.

How to get people to stop commenting on my body?

So I gained about 60lbs during the pandemic. My parents died, I was very depressed and drinking a lot. I got help and got sober about six months ago. Since then, I’ve lost almost 40lbs and people are starting to notice. And comment. While it’s mostly positive, I really don’t enjoy it. Short of dressing in super baggy clothes for the rest of forever, how can I get people to stop commenting on my body? How do I (politely) shut down questions about weight loss strategies etc? The honest answer is that I’m no longer suicidal and actively trying to drink myself to death. But I don’t necessarily want to get into all that. I appreciate the support and concern, but I’m a pretty private person. Suggestions?

Please help! Low calorie fried chicken alternatives?

Hi all, i've been doing pretty well with weight loss, but unfortunately i have an extremely large appetite for breaded/fried foods, specifically chicken. As far as I'm aware there aren't any low calorie chicken substitutes on the market, and most of the insanely low calorie swaps are mostly from sweet foods, which i don't crave at all.

Is there anything out there, lower calorie than tofu, that anyone recommends? when i search online, i can't find anything low calorie enough, that would have a portion to keep me satisfied. i don't have a monetary budget, i just want some help! Thank you!

Back to my 190’s!

Continuing from this post, I’ve been on a weight loss journey since 2020, and I’ve seen valleys and peaks of all sorts. I recently inched back up to my starting weight (originally was 210lbs, went down to 171lbs, then went back up to 207lbs).

I’m happy to report that I’m now back in my 190’s (weighed in at 198.7lbs today), and I DO NOT plan on ever seeing a number that starts with 2 on my scale ever again! I know what I did wrong before, and I’m making a concerted effort to not yo-yo once more.

I’m so excited to keep it pushing, get back to where I was, and progress even further now. Second time’s the charm, Let’s go!

SW: 210lb

Heaviest: 225lb

Lowest: 171lb

I gained back 40lbs. I’m feeling anxious and scared.

Hello everyone, my CW is 200 pounds. I started my weight loss journey at 220 pounds in the January of 2021. I was living abroad in a small European town where I had to walk a lot, eat healthy and staying fit wasn’t difficult.

Cut to summer of 2022, I came back to my country and slowly started gaining weight in the big city where I am working. I have tried everything in my power to work out and stay fit but with 9-5 job and constant craving of fast food isn’t helping me at all.

I recently got diagnosed with ED. I was starving myself to lose weight but I instead am low on vitamins and nutrients. My vitamin D was so low that they had to give me injections. And cherry on top is my new knee injury which I got while skating. I really don’t know what to do. I’m going to the doctor’s for my knee injury. He told me beforehand that I might need surgery for ACL injury. I am anxious and scared. I had done a lot in the past two years to lose weight and I am slowly gaining it all back.

I’m writing here with the hope of getting some motivation and silver lining. I really don’t want to be unhealthy again. I’m in dire need of some positive perspective.

THANKING THE SUB & Please suggest the pace at which i should plan to lose weight.

Guys,

I am 28F

Height 5 2'.. CW: 145 lbs.... 1st goal weight 128 lbs. final goal 123 lbs.

I went through a breakup and gained a lot of weight. I am been wanting to lose 22 lbs (10 kgs) for the past 2 years. I have not ever kept my promise to myself and been slacking off. I want to go back to my 121 lbs so that I can fit into my old clothes.

So, I decided to promise someone else this time and keep at at. I found this sub. I am extremely motivated by all your journeys and feel like I belong to some community. I will start my weight loss journey today. I will post my regimen and progress every single day here and probably can have a positive impact in someone else's health journey.

But I want to avoid loose skin. I was planning to target 4 kg (8.8 lbs ) per month. i.e 2.2 lbs per week. Is that safe.? Please advise
Any other precautions to take. I haven't started the journey yet.

P.S: I dont want any of u to waste your time on my break up. The guy came back and I politely refused to reconcile.

P.P.S: This is not about revenge bod or anything. I want to get healthier since I am getting older.

How to get back on track?

Hey I 18m started my weight loss journey last September and have been going to the gym consistently 6x a week and have been in a calorie deficit. I had lost 20kg during that time this is the first time I’ve taken the gym seriously and became so proud of myself.

However the start of February was different I’ve become so unmotivated and couldn’t even go outside and have fallen of track. I have been eating way over my daily limit. I just hoped on the scaled and I’m 5kg up from my lowest tbh I don’t know what to do. I probably need some encouragement as I don’t really have anyone to.

Has anyone been in this position or anything similar could you please share your experience and how you overcome this situation.
