Lost my first 10kg in 50 days (technically more but missed the gym when I would have hit it) SW: 113.9 kg, CW:103.3 kg, GW: 90kg

Just really excited that this whole getting fit thing is working and my friends in family dint seem that interested.

I finally decided to get fit because years ago even doe I was over weight I always thought of myself as fit no matter how fast the weight was building, I told myself that I should never get tired walking upstairs to my bedroom.

Well a short while ago I moved to a new place and my room is on the third floor. I started moving the bar saying that this was different and I was still fine. Then i watched an episode of the Simpsons and found out i was the same weight as homer.

I began counting calories at first. Then I joined the gym which I love even doe all I do is walk on the treadmill.

About 25 days in I swapped to the keto diet. Which is really hard to do at the same time I'm cutting meat from my diet. But my weight loss speed up so no complaints.

Overall I'm delighted and hope I have the commitment to make it to my goal. Your success stories have definitely helped.

Diet Culture

Hey team,

I just wanted to give a shout out to everyone in countries where the diet culture is so ingrained in society. I moved to Canada last week and I've immediately noticed that there is a significant difference in attitude towards all things weight loss. This week, I've met people who work out for 3 hours every day of the week, and if they don't work out, they don't eat. It sounds naive, but I thought these extremes were only for influencers, models and the like, not regular students and working people.

I never realized how ingrained the 'thin is beautiful' mentality would be. So, mad respect to anyone on their weight loss journey in a country or community where weight/weight loss is so emphasized.

I wouldn't normally make a motivational 'you can do it!' post, but if there's one person that needs to hear this, it'll be worth the sappiness. Remember that comparing yourself to others isn't always fair, healthy, or helpful.

De-stressing my life to help me lose weight

So about two years ago I successfully lost about 40 lbs, and it was great. I went from like 270 to 230 (I'm F, 25). Then I was promoted to a management position at my job (worst decision ever, felt like a glorified babysitter who gets blamed for everything the kids do), and my stress levels skyrocketed. Like, I'd be crying in the shower before going into work because I hated it so much.

Well, I demoted myself. I have two more shifts as a manager, then it's back to good ol' basics for not really much less pay.

I'm looking forward to making progress in weight loss again. I'm hovering around 250 but I can tell stress-eating and stress in general has wrecked my body.

I know we're not supposed to necessarily wait for certain dates or milestones to lose weight because there will always be a reason not to, but man...this whole job thing has really changed my perspective on how much energy I put into other people. I used to be so worried that my managers would think I wasn't doing enough, and I would take on extra stuff just to get them to like me more. That's gone now. I only care how much I'm paid to care, and the moment I clock out I only focus on myself and my family.

No longer trying not to be fat. Just trying to get fit! [SW: 121.5kg / CW: 89kg]

Since my last post over 3 months ago, I've lost about 10kg. As stated in my previous update, I have joined the gym and have slowly started becoming addicted to it. For two months, I almost didn't miss a day. I expected to stick with the treadmill for some time, but I've quickly moved to lifting, and I honestly feel like a different person. I'm currently in my hometown, but I can't wait to go back and continue my gym routine.

Overall, that has helped a lot with weight loss, and I'm quickly realizing that the "weight loss is mostly about eating and not exercise" myth is a long shot from the truth. Weight loss is mostly about psychology, and exercise is an incredible source of motivation. I didn't believe it at first, but I can confidently say that now. Discounting burned calories from exercise and the metabolic processes it initiates is also entirely unfair, but it can't be understated that working out has been a game-changer in regards to how I manage eating.

Other than exercise, I'm continuing to realize that being cautious of carbs is my primary strategy. I'm trying out different techniques every now and then (such as intermittent fasting, currently), but this appears to be the main thing that has helped loose over 30kg. Whenever I do indulge, inevitably, I try to be as mindful as possible.

That's all for now! Good luck with your goals and see you around!

30 Day Accountability Challenge - September Sign Ups!

Hello lovely losers!

A new month is starting which means a new Daily Accountability Challenge!

This is the sign up post to make your goals for the month.

There will be a daily post for you to post your progress on said goals.

At the end of the month, there will be a wrap up to talk about your general progress & how you feel about everything! If you miss the sign up post, you're always welcome to hop in, the waters fine!

You can also read everyone else's progress & commiserate, congratulate & whatever else needs ating. Your goals can be weight loss or general health related, creative, self care or whatever else you need to focus your mental energy on. We try to foster a supportive place to chat about your successes & failures & what you've learned from both.

Leading by example, here are my goals, subject to mild tweaks as needed!

Weight by end of month (lose 5-10 lbs): X this morning, X trend weight. I'll base the goal here off my last weigh in for August.

Stay in calorie goal (weekly average): 1500 ish is the general sweet spot.

Exercise 5 days a week: Habitual but I want to continue to chase higher intensity stuff, more HIIT & more strength training! X/X days.

Limit purchased coffee drinks (3 a week): Just want to spend less here. X/13 (monthly total allowed).

No fast food: I make bad choices around this kind of food & can’t seem to moderate so the goal is to have none. X/X days.

Self-care treat once a week: Need to keep up on this, can include journaling. X/X weeks.

Practice drawing with pencils/art supplies: Still enjoying this even if I’m not great at it!

Try a new recipe once a week: I’ve been having some food apathy lately. I want to feel a little more checked into the food I’m fueling my body with so new stuff! X/4 weeks.

Your turn losers, tell us what you’re going to do in the month ahead!

Weight stuck since March

Hey all

Long time lurker. I overall have difficulty losing weight. I started seeing an endocrinologist in July 2018 and she put me on glucophage. Everything was great even though my weight loss was slow but it was something. My journey started January 2018. I started with 98.8 and as of now my weigh 88 KG. It was around 86.5 KG in May but I’ve had surgery and was out for 8 weeks with no working out. Now I have stopped glucophage for a while and I am not planning to go back on it.. is it this possible that I have not lost any weight? I do spin and barre (total 4 times a week). I generally eat healthy. Started on Saxenda last weight.. any ideas? I am not sure what to do and this is really depressing me

Advice to cut and lean

So I’ve been doing a bit of a weight loss journey for a few months now where I started at 278lbs and now am 215. I started by cutting my calories to 1500 and work out in the gym and I also had the benefit of having a very active job.

However I’ve pretty much plateaued now and I’m starting to get frustrated. I’ve made a new diet and work routine where I hope to gain a little bit of muscle but mainly get lean and reduce my body fat.

I figured I’d reduce my calories to 1200 but be protein heavy because it’ll be quite manageable and I don’t think it’s dangerously low.

I’ve also made a workout routine for the week which I’ll chuck below. I’m just wondering if I should do anything different to my diet or workout or both and any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Monday (Cardio) Treadmill (30 mins) Cross trainer (30 mins) Abs Boxing

Tuesday (Strength) Chest Shoulder Back

Wednesday (Cardio) Treadmill (30 mins) Cross trainer (30 mins) Abs Boxing

Thursday (Strength) Triceps Biceps Legs Glutes

Friday (Cardio) Treadmill (30 mins) Cross trainer (30 mins) Abs Boxing
