I’m not against physical activity at all, but I genuinely struggle with the gym environment. I find it monotonous, uncomfortable, and socially overwhelming. I deal with some social anxiety, which makes it harder to stick with it.
I often hear that diet plays a bigger role than exercise when it comes to weight loss, but at the same time, many people say that without going to the gym, progress is much slower. That leaves me wondering: how slow is “slow,” really? And are there effective alternatives that can truly replace the gym?
I’m a complete beginner and still trying to understand what’s realistic and sustainable. I’d really appreciate hearing about real experiences, what worked for you, how long it took, and what kinds of activities helped you stay consistent outside of a gym setting.
Thanks in advance
