What do you do about medication that causes weight gain?

I had a medical emergency and I was on massive doses of IV cortisone as well as other medication that causes insane increases in appetite in hospital about a year and a half ago. Once I was discharged I was on handfuls of prednisone for a few months. I gained 20kgs which is massive for me because I'm really short. I am still chronically on different pills that can cause weight gain as well as 100mg Sertraline and Ginette (for PCOS).

I feel like such a total mess. It's taken me so long to get well again and get my medication regime sorted out so that I can be a functioning human. I can't really change my meds.

Is there any hope to lose this weight while on these meds? Or am I just being dramatic?? Weight loss meds aren't an option because of the cost and the strain they would put on my liver with the meds I'm on.

Any advice would be appreciated. I'm just feeling so overwhelmed and need a pep talk 😅
