I've lost so much musscle mass but only in my chest?

I started working out about a month ago and holy shit has it been a massive hit to my motivation.

Bench press has always been my favourite exercise. I remember doing reps with 70 kg when I was 13. When I stopped working out sometime before the pandemic I was lifting 140kg.

I am barely able to do 1 set of 60kg now. At most I do a couple of sets at 60kg at reduced reps, the others are 40kg.

Other muscle groups arent' as affected and there I can sense that the issue was the lack of exercise since I last worked out rather than the weight loss. I am literally doing tricep push-downs with as much weight as I bench press.

Is it possible that most if not all the muscle mass I have lost during my weight loss journey so far has been localised to my chest?

Down 10kgs in two months

SW:88.5kg GW:80kg CW: 78.5kg. M 6ft

I started this weight loss journey mainly because i was the heaviest i have ever been, but also because i couldn’t drink for 6 months anyway due to medication I’m on. Without the odd heavy drink weekend with associated take away etc Ive managed to make great progress while just limiting my calories. I don’t know if i went about it the most healthy way, considering i have been reasonably inactive and just in a calorie deficit, but the results are worth it for me at least. I don’t really see a huge difference in the mirror but definitely notice the extra room in clothes and slight reduction in face fat. My goal was 80 by christmas, but seemingly i was better at sticking to it than i thought. I almost feel like its crazy the amount of food i would just eat in one sitting a few months ago. Since i am losing a good bit of weight ill try push my goal to dead centre healthy range for my height, maybe around 75kg-70kg. I’m sure a fair amount of the weight loss has been muscle, but i am planning on building that back up when I’m done with this weight loss anyway.

Glasses frames shape and size

Two questions regarding eyeglasses. Do any of you, especially those who have had a big weight loss (100+ lbs), found that the fit of your frames changed a lot? Also, did you find that what shape of frames suited you changed as your face got slimmer? I want to get new glasses and I’m trying to decide if I should get them now or wait until I’m closer to my goal. I’m about half way to goal, now down just over 60 lbs and aiming to lose another 60 or a little more. I still have a kind of round shaped face but a lot of that is probably due to excess weight, and I wonder if a different frame shape might suit me once I lose more. Would appreciate any experience you can share.

Unexpected (but happy) weight loss!

I started my second year of uni in September and decided to take a small break from weight loss to focus on my work. I didn't eat unhealthily but I wasn't counting calories so I thought I would put on a few pounds, but It was the opposite! I've somehow managed to get to my goal weight for Christmas! :) I also tried on a pair of vintage trousers I bought last year that didn't fit me and they finally fit! I'm definitely in shock rn lol

Struggling to lose weight as a shift worker

Hi all! I’m at the beginning of my weight loss journey and I work both day shift and night shift. I switch from nights to days without a consistent rotation. I’m trying to eat less than 1500 calories/day. I work out 2 times a week with a trainer plus try to incorporate 1 hour of vigorous physical activity daily. This has been manageable when working day shift. Now I am scheduled on a stretch of nights. I am having a really hard time figuring out when or what to eat. I also struggle to keep active and find time to workout. Any shift workers have advice for me? What times do you eat at? What foods give you energy and keep you satiated? I feel like this is all so much harder now but I’m tired of being overweight.

Losing 60 pounds in 1 year? Help

I was moderately active in college but everything changed when the pandemic hit and I put on 30lbs of fat over the last year and a half. The weight I gained caused alot of noticeable changes like not fitting into my clothes, stretch marks, and alot less energy.

I got a gym membership and included with it was a personal trainer session where they assessed my movement & flexibility and gave me a body composition analysis (InBody was the machine they used). Overall, I am 5'6" (22F) and weigh 218lbs with

55 lbs Intracellular Water, 33 lbs Extracellular Water, 32 lbs Dry Lean Mass, 97 lbs Body Fat Mass

I don't know how accurate those numbers are, but its clear I need to lose alot of fat. Specifically 60 lbs of fat to be within healthy limits according to my trainer. This is especially concerning to me because high cholesterol runs in my family so I know I am at risk for problems in my future if I don't watch my weight.

My personal trainer is developing an exercise regimen for me and will be teaching me how to perform all the workouts correctly, but I know that's only half the battle and I need to watch what I eat too.

My question is, for someone who is completely new to weight loss and really no experience with exercise or watching what I eat. Is it realistic to try to lose 60lbs of fat in a year?? And does anyone have any tips for me to get the ball rolling, and stay rolling? I'd really appreciate any tips or tricks that have helped you. Thanks so much!

New drugs have killed my appetite. Barely averaging 1200 cal a day. Is this actually going to hinder weight loss?

Bit of a weird one for this sub, since the drug I’m taking is specifically FOR weight loss. But my main concern is that I’m worried I’m not eating enough now and it’s actually going to have a negative effect on my weight loss. Most days I struggle to 1200 calories, and I can’t finish meals anymore (I definitely need to re-learn portion control!). I also work out with a PT three times a week and they’re pretty intense workouts — which I am mostly doing on an empty stomach because again, I just can’t eat anything without feeling extremely full and ready to be sick.

Of course I’ll put up with the feeling to lose weight, I basically had to beg my endo for access to this treatment. But can anyone think of a way to just get calories in, in one or two meals, without the overwhelming sensation of being full/ill?
