I'm super wet and I can't deal. Advice?

Sort of tricked you, I'm sorry... not really. Okay... I feel like I excessively sweat when I'm warm. It's terrible. Normally I'm fine, but when I get going I'm just soaked. It's really gross. It's also super frustrating. I went to Disney World recently on my first vacation with my boyfriend and his family. Trying to figure out what to wear, knowing what's about to happen is nerve wracking. No point in wearing makeup. Cant wear anything cute. Even my hair gets wet...

It's bad enough that it's some of the reason why I choose not to work out. It's a hassle to feel like I need to wash my hair (which is long). I feel like it's just a super annoying thing in my life. I've talked to it with my doctor who ran a few blood tests, said everything looks normal outside of me being overweight.

Would losing weight help with this? How do my other sweaty breathren deal? Gals with long hair, how do you work out daily and not have to wash your hair everyday? I know weight loss is 80% diet, but I would really like to feel okay exercising.

How do you regain your motivation

since July I am down just over 45lbs, in the beginning I was losing weight as I was pursuing a job that required me to be in good physical condition. I tracked calories very carefully and ate almost nothing but meat and veggies everyday. at the time I was also jogging anywhere from 1-3 miles a day, but since then the job has fallen through and my weight loss has slowed down drastically I was easily losing 2lbs a week before and now I’ve slowed down to maybe .5lbs a week if that. People still make comments about how skinny I’ve gotten and such but the “cheat days” are so much more common for seemingly no reason other than that it couldn’t hurt too bad right? and I find it much harder to go out and run, my real question is how do you light the fire again? What could I change? what do you recommend?

I have a weird bellybutton, will toning help?

Not surely best to write that title, sorry if it's a weird one!

I'm still on my weight loss journey, I've been yoyoing for years, but seem to hover the most around about 82kgs (33yo F 5.8") My highest recently was around 87kgs, after putting on a lot of post wedding weight.
I'm also a belly dancer, and get my belly out more often than the average person, to perform. (Often along side quite slender people).

An all time low, when my self esteem and metal health was already in a bad place, was when I performed a few months ago, and could literally see the audience looking at my younger, hotter friend dancing, and then got edited out of a photo so that my younger hotter friend could be edited back into it in my place, so that she was in the same image twice. Any way, that definitely helped kick start me into getting real again, and I've lost around 8kgs (17 pounds I think). Not at my goal weight, but feeling a bit better about myself.

One thing that I've had for almost as long as I can remember, is a funny bellybutton.
I have a puffy area of fat sitting above and below my bellybutton, which kind pushes it sideways. (Pic down bottom)

It's been like that for years, since I can remember noticing it, and even when I've lost weight and been at my slimmest (still not my goal weight though), it has stayed like that.
It makes me look so much larger than I am, and makes me feel gross in a way that I can't articulate without being rude or saying things that make me feel worse 😆 I know a lot of dancers who are same size, or bigger than I, who still have a nice, normal bellybutton and it helps them look smaller.

It is one is the things that I'm most self conscious about, and I hate it so much. If I didn't get my stomach out so much, maybe it wouldn't bother me as much as it does.

Is there anything I can do to help charge it, and it look like a normal or upright bellybutton? Or am I stuck with it forever?

Thanks :)

Elote Recipe–Easy Mexican Street Corn at Home

This Mexican Street Corn Elote Recipe is part of a sponsored collaboration with Vive Mejor and Knorr. All opinions and photos are my own.

Hello! Today I’m recreating one of my favorite Mexican snacks or side dishes – Mexican Street Corn aka Elotes. It’s a super easy recipe you can make a little lighter than the original.  And I’m excited because even though I love it –  I’ve never made an authentic version at home!

Mexican Street Corn Recipe light update elote (534x800)

If you’re not familiar Elotes = Mexican Street Corn = epic corn on the cob slathered with butter, mayo, cheese and chili. Sometimes you’ll see it served with cilantro, lime, cotija cheese or other toppings but the way I bought it growing up was mainly that combo.

Oh and – if you’re not familiar with elotes… you’re probably not familiar with the Elote Man aka the guy slinging this amazing snack! He would walk through the neighborhood pushing a cart and honking a horn to get customers attention. Inside the cart he’d have a huge pot of boiled corn and around it would be all the toppings: butter, mayo, cheese, chili, etc. When you bought an elote he’d use big metal tongs to grab a corn out of the water and stick a wooden stick in it. Then, he’d pile it up with all the toppings and hand it over dripping with all the delicious flavors melting together.

Today I made elotes at home and it was so good! This might be a new staple for me!

grilled Mexican street corn Elote Recipe

I was inspired by this Grilled Street Corn Recipe – but made a few swaps to make it a little lighter…

Instead of grilling – I boiled it in the bouillon. This made the entire corn cob extra juicy and flavorful.

Instead of sour cream – I used greek yogurt. This made it lower calorie but still creamy.

I used extra lime and cilantro because I love those flavors.

I tried again - here’s a few things I’ve learned

I am a 20 year old girl (almost 21, yay!) and I’ve tried losing weight probably 20 times since I was 14. I’ve had eating disorders, lost 40, gained 40, lost 5, gained it back, the whole thing. Right now I’m reflecting on all the shit I’ve been through and done and I’ve gotten a ton of ideas on what does not work for me, so I hope this helps someone. I’m about 160lb right now, 5’1, and I’m going to drop 30lb the right way this time and lean out! These are some things that I understood with trial and error that I didn’t really think too much of before.

-Low calorie options with processed sugar/low fats made me hungrier. Diet soda, low-fat yogurts, the whole thing made me starving. I’d drink a Diet Pepsi and 45 minutes later I literally CRAVE ice cream, candy, anything sweet. I blame all the artificial crap. I gave up all of it. All the “diet” foods made me want to eat my house. so if you ever find yourself craving something super sweet, check and see if you’ve been eating the artificial fake sugars because it is true, they make you crave the real thing! Sugar addiction is soooo real!

-My lack of planning is why I failed over and over again I think. Food journals are everything. If you don’t plan out what you’re going to eat, you’re going to make some sad choices. I never had a plan. I had food in the house, but never a plan. Sometimes I got lazy so I’d just get takeout and as we all know, the take out goes straight to your thighs. LOL.

-Exercising really helps mentally and physically throughout the process for me. I used to make excuses and say I never had time, then I made the time and found something I loved. Everybody can set some time to move their body not just for weight loss because it makes you feel sooo damn good!!!

-Protein I found to be sooo important. When I was doing around 1200 cal, I didn’t eat enough protein and I was losing weight but I was looking jello-ish. I realized my muscles were also being lost here, too! I definitely make sure everything I eat now has a good amount of protein. And protein made me feel WAY fuller.

-Drinking water with every meal and throughout the day made me fuller.

-Cardio is hardio but it does work for fat loss! Weight training has definitely helped me stay slimmish though, and I feel super strong when I lift. I’ve been this same weight before, except my jean size was a 10 instead of a 6! I owe that all to the weights.

-Invest a few bucks in a goal pair of pants, a shirt, anything. I bought “skinny pants” before and once they fit me I cried, lol. But everyone should have something to look forward to!!

-You gotta keep trying even when it sucks! If you would have told me 5 years ago I’d still find myself struggling with body issues and weight, I wouldn’t have wanted to live. But here I am, trying again. And I feel better about it this time because I’m doing it for my own reasons.

I hope someone got something out of this!

I stopped counting calories during a stressful week and managed to maintain!

So I had these really important applications due yesterday. It made me really sad to put my health in the backseat for a bit, but counting calories and exercising the way I had been was just too much on top of all the stress I was already feeling. I completed the applications yesterday. I was so sad and pretty much felt like I just have ruined all my progress. I was petrified to hop on the scale because I was afraid of what it would do to my mentality. Anyway, I weighed myself this morning when I woke up and I maintained! The 13 pounds gone are still gone! I don’t know why the weight loss had almost felt like a fluke before but now I see I really did earn the way I feel now and it feels great. I had to share this small victory. Many more pounds to go but at least I’m back on the right path!

Encouraging words for my husband?

My husband is military and just got put on a 1200 calorie diet for two months. He cannot exercise and they want him to lose 30 pounds in the next 2 months. It’s a lose it or be kicked out thing. He will be monitored by his doctors and the calories will be adjusted if they need to be after a set time. I just need your favorite words of encouragement, be it funny or sweet or what have you, to put in his lunchbox everyday. Whatever quotes or sayings got you by on your weight loss journey. (Also once this calorie deficit is over they will start introducing exercise back in so he will be able to slowly up his calories back to normal. His knee just can’t handle the extra weight coupled with exercise. They are hoping after the weight loss and physical therapy things will go back to normal.)
