It has officially been a month of resistance training!

M/18 5’9” SW:230 CW: 177 GW: 148

It’s has officially been a month of consistent resistance training. Personally, I have not seen much change in my overall body shape, I eat around 2,000 to 2,100 calories so my rate of weight loss has gone down but I have gone down 1.5 inches around my waist(from bellybutton). Mentally I feel a lot better, I definitely still do have my days but overall I’m feeling better about myself. I know that if I continue then change will happen soon enough. Today was the first day I’ve worn a white t-shirt in 7 years as I thought that if I wore that color I would look automatically obese, but it felt nice to workout in white. Overall the process has been not too difficult, going to the gym has become a hobby rather than a chore, and I look forward to continuing to change my physique. It’s only the first month but my mood has improved and my body will soon follow.

Thank you for coming to my update 🍀

My partner and I have lost 100 lbs!

After attending a wedding in Saint Thomas, my partner and I saw this photo of ourselves. Horrified with how we looked (and how we felt the entire time we were there), we decided it was time to make a change. We've been on a CICO diet for the past 7 months and lost 100 lbs so far! We are both within about 5 lbs or so of our goal but I thought the 100 pound accomplishment was neat enough to brag about. Thanks to everyone here for your encouraging content and stories. It has really helped us through the weight loss journey, and will continue to help us on the next step, maintaining the weight! THE DIET NEVER ENDS!

Here is a comparison of the original photo next to an updated photo.. Before you ask, I did end up ironing the tie after I saw this photo. I didn't realize how horrible it looked.

weight loss takes a while

just need to vent/ rant. it took me 100 days to go from 185 lbs to 177 lbs. i got so discouraged because i see people losing that amount of weight in a month or two while it took me 3.

i can partially blame my thyroid issue for this but i know i messed up with my eating habits. i work out almost every day 30-60 min but i don’t always eat the best.

i also lost the first 5lbs so quickly that i think i’m still holding onto that and thinking my whole journey is going to be like that. i’m only 5 months into this weight loss and i want to keep going. i have a goal in mind to get down to 130lbs and i will reach that. it will take me a long time, i know that now.

i seem to have broken my plateau from 180 so i hope that this continues! i got a stationary bike and doing an hour on that every day, 15 miles. it’s a nice break from all the youtube workouts i’ve been doing.

first picture is from october, second is from today i didn’t start my weight loss journey until end of february, beginning of march but that first photo really shows how far i’ve come.

anyways, sorry this was all over the place but i just needed to vent and this sub is such a supportive place!

How to lose fat (but not weight)

Hi there!

For the past 2 years ive been on a pretty haphazard weight loss journey. Essentially, I exercised a lot and, more importantly, ate extremely little. This worked great! I’m 175cm and have gone from 95 to 65kg in that time. I’m at the perfect BMI for my height. I’m basically done! Except... I still feel fat. I look in the mirror and I see rolls upon rolls and when I compare myself to other “thin” people I still look really chubby. I went to a fitness evaluation yesterday and discovered this was because despite me having a good bmi, my body fat percentage is at 30%. Pretty dang high, and honestly a bit of a relief considering I had no idea what was wrong with me before.

So here’s the rub. I don’t know what to do from here. My life so far has been simple CICO, but I’ve been discouraged by the trainer who did my test from losing any more weight and instead focus on body recomp. I have no idea how to go about this. She gave me a simple workout/toning plan, but is there anything else? Should I still be cutting calories? Should I increase? I’m worried about gaining weight again . Should I just focus on muscle building or do more cardio as well? Are there any specific exercises I should be doing aside from the workouts my trainer gave me (shes not actually training me, I can’t afford that, she just gave me a simple full body program to follow)

Honestly, I feel like I’m 95kg again lol! Any advice would be appreciated!

Weight Loss Questions (F30)

Hello,

I started calorie counting and exercising more in February and I'm still on the same path, and I've lost close to 50 pounds. I definitely feel better, but I've noticed that I'm incredibly achy. I have knots all over my shoulders, back, and neck that seem to not get better no matter how many times I go to a chiropractor.

During quarantine and working from home, I started getting ocular migraines (working 8-10 hours from a laptop) and I've noticed that it only gets triggered from bright screens, so I've changed things around so I can lessen them.

Having been told I have hormonal issues my whole life and constantly having to be on the pill to combat, I'm not sure if a lot of this is hormone related since I've lost a good amount of weight? The only things that have changed in these past few months are making sure I am strict with calorie counting and cardio. What can I do to help myself out? I also have GAD and I imagine with everything going on in the world, it's not helping but I'm just not sure anymore. I'm constantly overthinking everything.

Stuck!!! i need help

Hey everyone,

im 15f, 5’4 and 163lbs. I started at 171lbs a month ago and i’m already very happy with my results, but i’ve been stuck at 163lbs for about 2 weeks now and nothing seems to work for me.

I eat 1500 calories a day and rarely go over the 1600 mark. My diet mostly consists of whole foods but i do treat myself once a week with something more unhealthy. I also do at least an hour of cardio every day (walking, biking, running, etc.) But it just doesn’t seem to bring any more results :(

Does anybody have a few tips for me or things i could improve to help my weight loss?? i would appreciate it very much!
