Need to lose weight on a deadline

Long story short, following a rather stressful time in my life, my self esteem and confidence are at an all time low. I gave it some thought and almost 90% of my issues stem from body image and from the feeling of not being good enough. Tons to improve upon but I'd like to get started on the biggest hurdle first.

For context, I have around 20kgs to lose. I am 20F, living away from home for college with a rather lazy lifestyle and with an addiction to ordering food. I did struggle with a binge eating disorder but it is under control now. I leave for home in 2 months and I want to have some good progress to show when I do. I am tired of being told to lose weight and want to finally just get there for once (the whole weight loss - dieting thing has been ongoing for 2 or 3 years now.)

There is the additional fact that due to certain events, I have a "revenge body" motivation too. All in all, I want to know how I can make the most of these two months. I don't expect to lose all of it ofcourse but I finally want to break out of this loop and have some tangible results.

Any help whatsoever will be appreciated!

[22F] Anyone wants to be my weight loss buddy?

So I’ve gained around 10lbs and I’d like to lose it but I keep finding excuses to start my calorie deficit the day after. I want to have a weight loss buddy that way we could update and motivate each others!

Here are my measurements if I ever find someone with the same stats as me :

Height : 5’1

Weight : 127lbs

At the moment I’m really sedentary since I’m unemployed but I’m hoping to be a bit more active when I will find a job, it’s really hard when you don’t have a routine to follow, I must admit. My life feels like total chaos right now hahaha

I'm doing it again

I'm a 6 foot tall 22 year old male. I weight about 335. I started my weight loss journey again. I lost about 80 lbs when I was in high school from 280 to 200, but I gained it all back. I've had a lot of issues in my life and I'm finally at a stable point personally. I've been at a stable point for about 15 months and I'm tired of being like this. My goal is to get to 180, but I haven't been below 200 lbs since I was in elementary school. I would be comfortable at 220, but my goal is 180. If you could keep me in your prayers I would appreciate it. Thanks for the motivation!

Do you feel stuck? Try switching up your eating patterns!

Hey all,

It's been a while since I've posted my initial weight loss. I had a back injury at work that screwed up my progress and limited my ability to lift. It also prompted my BED to return, so I've kinda been fighting that. I ended up gaining about ~50lb or so, but I'm back down to the 230s, which isn't bad for someone of my muscle mass and overall height. Still cutting, though. Will likely stop around 220 before bulking again.

However!

I wanted to post what I've been doing lately that's really led to some good success and overall mental health regarding food.

I started doing a IF variant that is more focused on high days and low days.

On a 2000cal diet, you're going to be getting approximately 14,000cal a week. As such, at the end of the week, when you weight yourself, you're going to come in at your TDEE minus 14,000cal worth of fat. If you're shooting for a 500cal deficit, that should be about 1lb/week loss.

My big thing is, I'm a volume eater. Always have been, I've tried moderating portion sizes to "train my stomach" to be full, but no matter what, it just doesn't cut it. So, lately, I've mixed up my days for some to be high and some to be low.

Right now, on some days, I eat 600cal. And on others, I eat 3000cal. Sounds extreme but like all diets, after a couple weeks, it feels largely normal, and it's been successful. LoseIt actually has a setting to do this exact thing. If I do the math, 4 days at 3000cal and 3 days at 600cal come to 13,800cal for the week. I could bump that to 660cal on the low days, but this gives me a little wiggle room.

This has proven to be effective for me, healthy, and allows me to enjoy my days of higher calories. My currently split is:

M - 600cal

T - 3,000cal

W - 600cal

Th - 3000cal

Fri - Anime night. Usually ends up more than 3k for the day

Sat - 600cal

Sun - 3000cal.

I'd suggest giving it, or a variant of it, a try if you're growing tired of the same 2k calories every day. This is a marathon, not a sprint, you can experiment and find what works best for you!

No calorie counting, but I lost weight? Confused!

F20s, 5’6”, SW: 253, GW1: 200, GW2: 160, CW: 237

About two months ago, I’d weighed the highest I’d ever been and was diagnosed with a few things that could definitely be alleviated with weight loss, so I made the decision to work at losing weight.

For all of June, I counted calories (CICO) and went to the gym consistently (weight lifting + low impact cardio) and saw some results (lost about 8 lbs). Then, for the past month, I’ve gotten really busy and have had to focus on some other stuff and completely neglected CICO and didn’t go to the gym at all. I checked my weight today and found out I lost another 8 lbs!

I’m happy about this, but very confused. I haven’t been exercising or counting calories; the only differences in my life between this month and before starting weight loss is that my eating habits are a bit better? I eat three meals at proper mealtimes and try to stop eating when I’m full, but I’m not super active about making sure it’s fitting my macros or anything (still eating a decent amount of carbs), and I don’t restrict indulgences (I eat dessert maybe 2x a week but because of that, I don’t have the urge to binge them anymore).

Is this a fluke? Can anyone tell me why my weight loss was the same as when I was trying as to when I wasn’t?

Early Plateau

Hi all, I started about a month and a half ago with tracking my calories along with exercise for weight loss. With a combination of 1 cardio session, and 1 weight lifting session per day I was able to drop 11 pounds in the first month. A good pace if you ask me. However, with no real change to my program I have plateaued at 304 pounds. Literally at 304 for the past 3 weeks with no change to the scale at all have even tried different scales. Any tips on how to overcome this? Should I cut even more calories just to get over the bump?

If I go from eating at a 700-900 calorie deficit to eating at a 1200-1500 diet will I gain weight

So a little background. I have been eating at a 700-900 calorie deficit almost every single day for the past three months after following some shitty old weight loss vlog but now I see why you shouldn’t do that. While I have lost a crap ton of weight (yaay) I’ve also lost almost all my energy. I’m wondering what’ll happen if I try to bring my body back to some more normal eating habits. I want to try to aim to eat least over 1000 cals a day. Mentally I know it’ll be hard on me because if i’m honest i’ve definitely developed a major ED but physically will I gain much weight because I’m content with the weight i’m at and I don’t want to go up. But that being said eating like this is not good for anyone especially someone who is physically active like me (runner 3+ miles daily)
