What diet should I transition into after doing keto?

I lost 12 pounds in 1 week on keto. Hurray, it broke my stubborn plateau! However, the extreme weight loss shocked my body and caused my endometriosis to flare up. Unfortunately, I cannot continue the diet if it will continue to aggravate my endometriosis.

I am traveling in about 3 weeks and will be most likely binge eating carbs and whatever else I plan on doing, I'm going to Tokyo Disneyland in Japan! I am worried about having another keto flu while on my vacation and would like to transition out of keto safely before hand just for the sake of this trip. But when I come back I plan to get right back into a diet.

Does anyone have some tips or recommendations on how to add carbs without overloading quickly? For how long will I be sick when I transition back? More importantly, does anyone have recommendations of diets that are still just as healthy as keto but not as extreme? I still have 25 stubborn pounds I've been trying to rid of.

Thanks!

TLDR; I am looking for recommendations because for health reasons I need to transition away from keto. I am unsure of how to do so or what diet to go to after.

First post?

Hi guys! I've never used reddit before so sorry if I'm breaking tons of rules (I tried to read up about as many as possible but could have missed some).

I also apologize for the number of questions asked in this post. I've been thinking about all of this for such a long time and only after they've collected up have I actually asked them.

I'm a 5'7", 126 pound female. I weighed around 133 pounds in summer/early fall, but all of a sudden my weight started to drop in November even as I was eating a lot of unhealthy stuff daily, even more so than usual. Additionally, I was exercising less than usual. This weight loss continued until I was 125 pounds just a few days ago. I've considered this sudden weight loss as a result of an increase in stress, with winter tests and exams, but I don't know for sure and was wondering if anyone else had an explanation?

My goal weight has always been to reach the 120s, so even if I was concerned at this weight loss I was pretty happy when I got to 129. However, I've made another goal of reaching 120 or less. Realistically, how long do you guys think it will take for me to make it?

I have a dance performance coming up in a week and I'm the widest out of all the group members. I don't mind, but losing as much weight as healthily possible would be ideal. Any advice?

An issue that's been stuck with me: How do I control not eating excess? It's not necessarily binging, but I will eat any junk food no matter how full I am. I am aware that I shouldn't be doing it the whole time I am eating, yet I do it. A healthy alternative is usually suggested, but what about when I eat a snack or two after the healthy food, just because?

Thank you guys for making it all the way through!

How should I endure the holiday “advice”...

Long time lurker, first time poster here. I’m finally breaking out of my shell because I need some advice.

To preface, this community has been amazing for my weight loss journey. I’ve tried for years to lose weight, and I’ve only managed to “yo yo” with my diet/exercise. However, ever since I joined this community a few months ago, I’ve been staying consistent with my work. I’ve learned not to beat myself up for a bad day here or there, and it’s been amazing for my self esteem!

Anyways, fast forward to today. I’ve lost about 10 pounds since I’ve started, and I’ve been feeling great! Clothes are fitting better and I’ve been feeling more confident. Well, I came home for the holidays (fun times, I know), and on the first day of me being here, my mom tells me that I “need to start doing sit ups or something” as she glares at my mid region.

I was pretty hurt by that. I don’t think she intended to be rude, and I don’t think she’s known about my insecurities and personal struggle, but I couldn’t help but let that comment get to me. I thought I was doing great, but apparently, my progress isn’t showing and now I’m discouraged.

Has anyone else ever had a similar experience? How do I put up with these comments without letting them wear down my motivation?

unusually low heart rate after weight loss?

Hey, so i use my fitbit all the time, and i love it. Something that i put no thought into but liked to randomly mention to people is that my resting heart rate is super low now, usually between 46 and 50. Someone recently told me no, thats not possible, only athletes have RHRs that low, so i looked it up, and boy was i terrified. Now I don't personally think I'm an athlete, I walk around 10 miles a day and do 30 minutes of intense cardio a day and lift for about 30-45 minutes a day. Would that explain why my RHR went from mid 80s to high 40s, or should I really be worried? my BP is usually 120/60 and my bloodsugar is usually around 80/90 non fasting

Did it make sense to eat 900 calories a day or was I just delusional?

Hi guys, I'm on a weight loss journey and I had a secret I've kept for a long time. Started at 200lbs now at 164lbs I would eat 900 calories a day. My reasoning for it was because I didn't trust calories. I thought that even though it would say a certain number of calories, it would actually be more due to sauces and spices. So I would over estimate. Was this logical thinking? I am now eating 1200 calories but I haven't been losing weight; should I return to 900?

Some back story: I'm a college student, and I've relied on Cico and my food scale to lose weight. It's worked great when I was tracking under 1000 calories but now it's stopped. I've been on 1200 calories for a month now and I'm not seeing any results even though I'm still on a deficit.

This is a serious question, and if I broke any rules please let me know. I'm just a girl in need of advice.

How can you help motivate a spouse who is having trouble losing weight or finding the motivation to do so?

This spouse comes from a family of all morbidly obese people (40+ BMI’s), has been at least a little overweight/flabby his whole life, and has had a BMI of 43-47% over the past 5 years. He’s currently 6’0” and 325lbs. He hates his body and wants to lose weight/build some toned lean muscles, but can never seem to stick with a weight loss plan of his choosing and “just do it”. He always loses motivation/drive within a week or two weeks at most, and ends up giving up, eating more, and getting fatter. He has 2 children under age 5, and a wife who is very active and fitness oriented. His obesity has taken a huge toll on their marriage, particularly their sex life and her attraction to him. What have you experience and seen success with in similar scenarios?

Edit: this man’s wife eats paleo herself and cooks that way for the family, plus some whole grains like quinoa and rice for the kids. She’s cooked for him when he’s wanted to do keto and other diets, but he usually ends up eating out while at work (usually at McDonalds). He also hates workout out with his wife; he tells her she’s too advanced for him and he can’t keep up. He’s 29 years old and currently has high blood pressure, plus an extensive family history of diabetes, autoimmune diseases, high blood pressure, immobility, DVT, gout, and many other issues, so it’s not like he doesn’t know the consequences of obesity. Also, his wife is a clinical nutritionist.
