Did it make sense to eat 900 calories a day or was I just delusional?

Hi guys, I'm on a weight loss journey and I had a secret I've kept for a long time. Started at 200lbs now at 164lbs I would eat 900 calories a day. My reasoning for it was because I didn't trust calories. I thought that even though it would say a certain number of calories, it would actually be more due to sauces and spices. So I would over estimate. Was this logical thinking? I am now eating 1200 calories but I haven't been losing weight; should I return to 900?

Some back story: I'm a college student, and I've relied on Cico and my food scale to lose weight. It's worked great when I was tracking under 1000 calories but now it's stopped. I've been on 1200 calories for a month now and I'm not seeing any results even though I'm still on a deficit.

This is a serious question, and if I broke any rules please let me know. I'm just a girl in need of advice.
