New weight loss side effect

As my ankle is still healing, I just got back into driving. I know people are always asking what unintended side effect you have from losing weight and I found out a new one today that made me laugh. Last week as I was driving to work I noticed that my mirror seemed like it was aimed funny and I couldn’t figure out why. I haven’t had to adjust my mirrors in years. Then I was trying to read my speedometer and realized that my steering wheel was in the way. This was just too weird.

Wait I’ve lost several inches off my butt and I don’t sit as tall in my seat. I always knew this was a thing because my tall friends always comment on how far back I drive and I have to explain that my butt just took up a lot of room.

So, fit into a regular towel check, out of plus size pants check, lose half a shoe size check, adjust mirrors check.

Confused

So everyone always talks about how losing weight is all about staying in a calorie deficit. So as long as your body is burning more than what’s being consumed, you will lose weight. I know this is true and since this is the case, what role do Macros play in weight loss then? (Like fat, carbs, protein)

So since it’s about the calories, does that mean I can eat something that’s let’s say 300 calories as a meal but has loads of fat and carbs in it and still lose weight? I don’t do this and try to eat nutritiously but just asking theoretically to make sense of the role that macros play. I just am having a hard time grasping it.

Bitter and Sweet

So on the one hand, I am doing really well on the weight loss journey...

Since the beginning of September, I have buckled down, I have retrained my sense of self discipline, and I have managed to drop about 23 pounds so far (give or take a few ounces).

There's a part of me that's thrilled that I've made this much progress in such a short time. And I didn't have to go crazy to make it happen. It's been a matter of moderation in calories, increasing my daily movement, and cutting alcohol back to a weekends-only thing.

On the other hand...

I'm just part of the way to my goal. Like, the 23+/- is good, but holy shit, I feel like I have so far to go.

This is the point where I need to remind myself that this is a marathon, not a sprint. But damned if looking at how far I still have to go isn't a little disappointing.

Anyone else?

Advice Please. Effects of weight loss on tattoos

LTL FTP and all that jazz.

I'm on my own weight loss journey (with a lot of help and inspiration along the way from this sub!). I still have ~50lb to go.

I've an old tatt from my dumb teen years that I'm wanting to get covered up with some nice new art. My question is can I do it now, or wait til I've reached my goal? Itching to mark a massive life-changing event, so the prospect of a 6 month wait seems like an eternity.

I'd really love to hear about your experiences with weight loss and how it has or hasn't affected your body art. Not so much worried about loose skin - I've gained and lost this amount of weight before with no skin issues, but I'm not sure if the tatt design might distort...

[SV/NSV] 345lbs to 198lbs - Onederland and a New Outlook

Well, I did it. This week I broke the 200lbs mark and lost my 145th pound. I attribute 100% of my early success to this subreddit, particularly the daily Q&A threads where experience losers walked me though "the simple stuff" that I was never aware of. Although I haven't been as active on here the past few months, I'd just like to send a huge THANK YOU to this incredible subreddit for motivating me each day when I was morbidly obese and genuinely lost.

Moving forward, I have shifted my goals a bit away from weightless and have begun focusing on a maintenance and fitness plan. A vast majority (99.999%) of this weight loss was strictly diet based. Now, I'd like to shave off the last of my remaining fat with diet + exercise in an attempt to become a more healthy individual. I've started hitting the gym 5 times per week and am hoping to fill out some of the loose skin that I see appearing already.

To those of you just starting out your weight loss journey, trust me when I say "you can do it!" Almost a year and a half ago I was sitting on a couch alone with junk food and soda surrounding me when I found this subreddit. Today, I weigh 147lbs less and am the happiest I've ever been in my entire life.

I’ve lost 152lbs in under a year!

Today, I’m 152 pounds lighter than I was when I started my weight loss journey back in January.

My story is not one of overnight success. I didn’t take a magic pill. My results were not from a fad diet or a product from an infomercial. My journey has been more like a roller coaster ride but heading mostly towards the ups. a few errors, but also a collection of small milestones along the way, eventually leading to more than I ever expected my weight loss journey to be.

I replaced all the bad food I was eating with healthier balance meals. I went ‘cold turkey’. Many foods I was able to replace with healthier substitutes, changing full fat sausages for heck chicken sausages or M&S skinny sausages, using lean minced beef to make my own burgers and meatballs. Making my own meals ensured I knew exactly what I was putting in my body. I swapped up using oil to cook foods and started using fry light, and in my opinion it’s even better. My meals this year have been even more tasty than before I started.

I always hear people say to me “I need to join a gym to shift this weight” but then go home and have a take away. Don’t get me wrong, I do occasionally go to the gym, and it makes me feel healthier for it, however it hasn’t increased my weight loss.

I’ve lost over 150lbs in 10 months, and given myself a second chance at life.

One piece of advise, don’t force yourself to change, that will not last, do it when it feels right for you. If your mind is right, you can succeed.
