10lbs down! I'm so excited to continue the journey! Only 15 more to my first goal!

Hey all! A few days I posted about the start of my journey and how I was 4 lbs down, my SW I marked at 250, today when I woke up and weighed in, I was 239.9!

I'm 10lbs down and only 15 away from my health weight for January 😁 I'm 10% of the way towards my 100lbs lost goal and I'm so freaking excited.

I know a lot of it is water weight, I've cut out soda, way down on sodium, and been eating healthier in general.. I net 1'500 cal/day and go to the gym every day. But how exciting! It just makes me want to keep working and doing everything I can to keep losing weight and get to my goal.

I know weight loss starts really fast when you're starting out and have as much weight to lose as I do; I'm prepared for the slowdown, but hey celebrate the victories when they come, right?

SV! MM! |100! ONE HUNDRED! ¡CIEN! CEM! EINHUNDERT!

100! ONE HUNDRED! ¡CIEN! CEM! EINHUNDERT!

As of today, I have lost 100 pounds! It still feels unreal to me. Almost seven years to the day, I hit the 100-pound club.

As far back as I can remember, I have been overweight. I went into my freshman year of high school at 170 pounds, and by the time I graduated, I was around 220 pounds. Over the next few years, I gained more and more weight with no end in sight. I would try dieting, fad diets, whatever I could do with the least amount of effort to lose weight. At one point, I looked at the scale, and it said 335 pounds! I was embarrassed, ashamed, and disgusted with myself. That was the last time I stepped on a scale for a few years.

In December of 2014, after seeing a friend have success with keto, I decided to get serious. Over the next nine months, I would drop from 304 down to 234. The drop was a massive accomplishment for me, and I was on my way towards my goal of 220 pounds (Highschool Weight). Around September of 2015, I started to get lazy. I was happy that I dropped weight, and I just gave up on being healthy and fit. I continued to gain more weight despite working so hard to get where I was.

Fast forward to May of 2020, right as the pandemic was starting. My wife joined a weight loss challenge with her friends, and I decided to do it independently. I started in May of 2020 at 266 pounds and decided to try my best to stay consistent. Well, my workouts did not remain constant, but my nutrition improved. I had an "a-ha" moment, and I was finally able to tell why I had such a hard time losing weight, food!

I have always used food as a crutch. When I was sad, eat something. When I was happy, eat something. When I was incredibly depressed about my weight, I would eat something because what was the point in trying. The realization that I was using food as a crutch, I remembered a time at my heaviest when I was so depressed. I would crush a bag of hostess donuts on the way to work. Now I am not talking about the little six donut pack, but the Giant bag for sharing with eight people. So after this realization, I started to focus on my food more than my exercise.

I started eating until I was satiated, made better food choices, and significantly reduced my alcohol consumption. Who would have thought it but, the weight started coming off. Near the end of 2020, I was down to 219 pounds which was my first major milestone (get below my weight in High School). During this time, I also focussed on my mental health. Working on getting my head straight and my body right, I set myself up for success. Over the next eight months, my weight would fluctuate from 208 to 215, and I was happy with it.

In August of 2021, I joined F45 and gave myself 90 days. If, after 90 days, I was not happy with it, not invested, or not seeing the results I wanted, I would cancel my membership. My only requirement was I had to stick with it for 90 days. After the first class, I was smoked, and I may or may not have puked during the class. I just kept showing up day in and day out, with a goal of 4 days a week but wanting to go five days. While the number on the scale did not change much, my composition has. I can see abs that I did not know existed. I have a booty, and I see more and more definition across my major muscle groups. When I look back at pictures, I do not recognize the person I was. All I can see is how unhealthy and unhappy with my life I was. I have donated more clothes than I care to admit, both from gaining and losing weight. I still have a belt that I wore when I was at my heaviest. I have added so many more holes to track my progress and remind me to stay healthy.

I always knew I was a big guy, but I never realized how big I was. It wasn't until my wife hugged me one night that she let go and looked at me funny. She said that it was the first time in our life that she could hug me and touch more than the fingers on her other hand. Dancing at weddings, she had to hold me like she was at a middle school dance because I was too big around. Some pictures come up on our tv, and my kids do not even recognize who I am. Even my iPhone has tagged four different versions of me as different people in my photos app.

It has been an incredibly long and arduous road, but I have finally achieved a healthy and happy life.

Feeling pressure to get bariatric surgery because I feel like I won’t get results otherwise?

I’ve lost about 50 pounds in six in months. My highest weight was 300 and I’m currently at 240. My GW is 180ish. I’m a 5’9 26f with PCOS. (Which if you don’t know about it comes with insulin resistance and makes it much more difficult to lose weight, easy to gain it)

I keep seeing transformation before and afters of women who look like me then become completely different people through extreme weight loss. I get super pumped thinking yeah! I can do that too. And then it’s ALWAYS people who have gotten the surgery. Literally every single one.

It feels like it’s the only way to truly lose weight and keep it off. Like what I’m doing is just so so so slow and I won’t lose as much weight that they do. I don’t wanna get diabetes or be fat forever (hence the 60lb weightloss) it feels like surgery is the only way I can be sure that I don’t get sick and die from obesity. I’m feeling very discouraged.

I lost 27 lb this year "unintentionally".

I just checked the scale and was surprised to see it was much lower than I expected. I couldn't believe it. I hadn't felt like I'd lost any weight, but looking at photos from the beginning of the year, it is evident that I did lose some weight. I hadn't checked the scale in months. Four months ago, I was 27 lb heavier than I am now.

I am just now starting to take weight loss seriously by committing to the gym and calorie counting. But I have to be honest, I'm a bit surprised that my smallest lifestyle changes this year led me to losing 27 lb. I had never been successful in all my past dieting attempts. I would always lose motivation and gain all the weight back (and some). So it's funny how when I stopped dieting, I began to see changes.

I think the most notable change in my lifestyle has been getting a job and going to school in-person after a year and a half of quarantine. I know this sounds crazy but I didn't work out at all. I spent most of my time sitting or in bed. I also stopped ordering food via delivery (primarily because I'm broke lol). And I started exercising for the fun of it. I would exercise 2-3 times a week (nothing crazy). I would do all sorts of fun activities that I enjoy like hiking, climbing, walking, etc. I didn't exercise to lose weight but because I enjoyed it. I've noticed that I'm happier now and I don't get out of breath walking up the stairs lol.

Don't get me wrong, I am not anti-dieting. In fact, I just started a diet right now. I guess the point of this post is to say that the smallest changes really do make a difference over time. I began to lose weight when I stopped punishing myself and restricting myself and instead focused on building sustainable habits.

I thought i would be happier.

Don't let this stop you from loosing weight please. SW: 150kg/330lbs - CW: 85kg/187lbs - GW: 70kg/155lbs.

Its been exactly 1 whole year since i started my Weight loss, i used to be lonely, no friends, avoiding girls cuz feeling of ugliness, too much stress when talking to people, can't eye contact.

After loosing weight i strated to force myself to get into people and make friends, going out, i wanna do everything i can,

i used to fear eating outside cuz I'm fat, but, now i fear eating outside cuz i fear junk food, I used to avoid girls, and i still don't have the confidence talking to girls i still feel need to lose more weight, I used to think alot about people what they're thinking about my looking, how i walk, how i drink, literally everything i do, i can't feel relaxed, i still feel the same, and i keep telling myself that i need to lose more weight.

All my friends tells me to stop loosing weight and start lifting heavy things, I feel more depressed, more tearful than i used to be. I still have the same issues but different causes.

I thought just loosing weight will fix everything. I'm trying my best right now, i did lost good amount of weight i have the will, but i need more time. Hope yall have a great day ❤.

Day 1...again

A few months ago I attempted to get back into the gym. It did not go well and I gained 15-20 lbs since then. I went on a second date with a girl who then told me she was not physically attracted to me but I was a great guy. I moved away for work from my community of friends who I was working out with pre-covid. And I failed spectacularly at my weight loss goal for the year. But, I went to the gym after work today and it was good. I will feel sore tomorrow and that will feel good. I'll have a protein shake and leave out some chicken to cook so I don't eat out again this week and that will feel good. And I'll be back in the gym on Thursday after work, a little sore for the dreaded leg day and will suck but I will tell myself it feels good. I might even believe it. While I know I can force myself to start the process again, I'm writing this because I'm hoping and need support to keep on showing up. I haven't had a lot of wins lately so I'm asking for a pat on the back for fighting through it because it is pretty fucking hard.
