Update. I posted 26 days ago saying the scales wouldn't budge and I hadn't lost a single lb.

I posted 26 days ago saying my diet wasn't working and the scales were stuck at the same weight. I was already a couple of months in to my diet and hasn't seen any weight loss at all.

Well I'm not quite sure what happened but in the last 3 weeks I'm now down 3kg. I'm not quite sure why it took so long to see any progress but I'm so happy.

Just posting incase anybody is experiencing similar. Keep at it! I'm so glad I didn't give up.

I’ve lost 30 pounds and I still very very insecure and gross about myself

So back in April I (23 F) was weighing 185 pounds (I’m 5’0) and now I’m weighing 155. And I feel the weight loss. I see it a bit…but I still have a belly. At first during my weight loss I was proud of my progress but now it’s like…when am I gonna see the belly area go down? It’s my biggest insecurity. I feel like giving up every time I see myself naked. People see my weight loss as well but I just….I feel as gross as the day I started my weight loss. Any advice?

Looking for help, all my body fat goes straight to my belly.

I hope this is the right place for this. I'm a 24 y/o woman, and I recently went on a huge weight loss journey going from 360->210 (I'm 6'4).

I've been staying at 210ish for about 6 months now and have incorporated more exercise over the past 3 months. I never top over 2000 cals a day, and take in very very low sugar and carbs; most days I stay around 1200-1500 cals.

My problem is, all my body fat goes straight to my belly, never anywhere else. I feel like I shouldn't even be gaining anything back due to my low calories (for 6'4), but I do. I have to spend most of my exercise on my core and cardio, so I don't start gaining back on my belly. I'm also not seeing any progress from my upped exercise routine on my butt or hips, on top of getting nowhere with my belly. I'm really just at loss and feel like I'm wasting my time, so any help would be appreciated.

Sorry if it's kind've jumbled, I'm cooking as I write this

I’ve lost 30 pounds in a year

I wanted to add a picture but it won’t let me :( Anyway, in a year I’ve lost 30 pounds (starting weight 265) (Current weight 236). Honestly I feel no different, I still struggle with my body and I’m no where near my goal (130 pounds) but I’m proud of myself. My mom’s noticed a difference but a lot of people haven’t unless I show them pictures of me before lol. It’s weird bc some of my friends who I thought would be more encouraging say nothing or get annoyed when I talk about weight loss. It’s really shown me who my real friends are. I know 30 pounds isn’t 100 or super drastic but it’s the most weight I’ve ever lost. 2022 I want to stick to my plan better and definitely work out more. I feel like I could’ve lost more but I’m a habitual snacker with a sweet tooth. Good luck to anyone else trying to make changes this coming new year, we got this!

How long does it take to lose a moderate sized belly ?

Hey community !

I posted in this sub about a 50 days ago and i got some great advice on dieting for sedentary weight loss. The previous post can be seen HERE, in case someone wants context

I have since made improvements to my diet and only eat twice a day, within a 6 hour cycle. My TDEE was around ~1800 calories so i try to limit my intake to 1400 calories or less (the campus cafeteria has calorie labels on all the food they sell, so that's convenient)

As of November 6th 2021, i weighed around 64 kg

Now, i weigh at around 57 kg ; Detailed Weight Report

Which is great ! i lost 7 kg within 2 months' time just by eating less !

However, my belly ( which is not too huge, but midsized rather) did not go away. I did not expect it to disappear, but i was hoping for it to reduce a bit in size.

I frequently measure the circumference of my waist with an inch tape, by using the most protruded part of my belly as a baseline for measurement.

The measurement has stayed the same as before

Just to provide a perspective, i am not fat - i have somewhat thin (but not skinny) arms and legs.

So i am struggling to comprehend as to why my belly did not exhibit even the slightest reduction in size despite the weight loss ?

Realistically, how long is it going to take for me to lose my belly ?

I would greatly appreciate some advice !

Best

advice on weight loss for beginners

advice on weight loss for beginners

so i’m not overweight i’m probably just over average weight. 54kg, 165cm, 18 years old. i’ve never tried to lose weight before and i don’t want to lose loads but i think i need to lose just a little but i wouldn’t even know where to start. so any tips or hints or anything would just be helpful. i’m also a fussy eater which doesn’t help but i try

i normally don’t eat breakfast just because it makes me feel sick but i’ll have a cup of tea normally then lunch i’ll have crisps or cous cous or something small. dinner is when i eat the most and i have anything from pasta to potatoes to stir fry to chicken.

i try to be active but it’s difficult since i am asthmatic and also currently have a muscle injury in my leg but i do yoga once a week and try walk my dog 6,000 steps a few times a week and my daily average is usually 8-15k steps.

also thinking of possibly going part time vegetarian in the new year, limiting my meat to weekends only since i only eat chicken anyway.

i just never lose weight i just maintain or gain and have it all go to my thighs. so any tips or any advice would be very appreciated thank you

Lost my pandemic weight

This is my first milestone and I wanted to hit it before Christmas.

After starting my journey on October 31st, I am officially the same weight I was in March, 2020. I am down 20 from my highest weight and 15 from when I started on Halloween. My clothes are fitting better, I am feeling better, and my muscles are getting stronger.

My next step is to lose 4.4 pounds to get back into onederland. After that my next goal is to no longer be obese, which is now 14.4 pounds away.

I have no weekly goal of weight loss other than "lose something". My goals involve walking 4x a week and eating all the recommended fruits and veggies on a daily basis. Ideally I'd like to hit 190 by mid January, but that is no longer realistic.

Baby steps.
