y'all ever feel like the only ones targeted

Title is as it says I 14m started a weight loss journey like 4 months ago and have been steadily losing weight but something I noticed is I feel like the only fat guy who gets shit like at school they're other people just as big if not bigger than me who are popular and don't get picked on any and sometimes it makes me think what the fuck because whenever I'm in a social situation someone ends up making fun of me much to the laughter of others and it seems like other fat people don't get nearly as much hate I noticed this when I was in the 1st grade and I had to leave my best friend because his dad wouldn't let me be friends with me because I was fat and sometimes it just puzzles me I'm not even mad or a body positivity person I'm just wandering if y'all ever feel the same because I'm absolutely stumped

What I've Learned from Watching Weight Loss YouTubers

Hello LoseIt!

Watching weight loss YouTubers is one of my guilty pleasures. But it' hasn't been a total waste! I've actually learned a few things from watching them.

Most importantly, noticing their most common mistakes and patterns of behavior has helped me look at my own thoughts and habits more objectively. Here's what I've observed over the years:

1. They gain weight when they stop weighing themselves: Time and again, my favorite YouTubers will suddenly release a video explaining all the reasons (justifications?) they're going to stop weighing themselves. Maybe the scale is stressing them out during a plateau, or someone convinces them the scale doesn't matter. So they decide to instead focus on non-scale victories and leading a generally healthy lifestyle. Months later, they're always back on YouTube admitting how they stepped on the scale on a whim and learned they had gained significant weight. One of them even gained 40 pounds in just a few months.

2. They let life's problems throw them off their game: No, I don't mean a major crisis like the death of a loved one, a divorce, or something like that–that's understandable. Instead, time and again, I see these YouTubers go totally off-plan for weeks because their dog needed some minor medical treatment, they moved apartments, or they had a fender bender. But annoyances like these are part of life. You can't start eating like total crap again whenever something like that comes up, or you'll never make any progress. One woman even gained 6 pounds in one week because of stuff like this.

3. They switch things up too often: Weight loss requires consistency. But usually, these YouTubers try something out for a week or two, are disappointed by the results, and then switch it up. It has inspired me to make this rule: I need to stick to a plan for a month before deciding if it's getting me good results or not.

4. You actually have to use all your new gear. Weight loss YouTubers always show off their new kettlebells, workout clothes, and meal prep containers. It seems like a low-effort way to make them feel like they're moving toward their goal. However, simply buying new stuff won't help you lose weight. You have to use it. (Yes, I'm aware some of them probably get free stuff, but most don't.)

5. Most of them suck at cooking: This is the only item on the list that I don't relate to. I never realized that so many overweight people have this issue because I am awesome at cooking. My problem is that I love ALL food.

Anyways, I can't keep track of the number of times I've grimaced while watching YouTubers pour sliced vegetables (fresh or frozen) into a too-small pan. Then everything turns to mush. The worst is the treatment of the proteins, though. Boneless skinless chicken breasts and steak cooked until you could wear them on the bottom of your shoes. Most egregiously, sometimes they make this stuff days in advance for meal prep. Don't get me wrong: I love leftovers! But I can't handle the thought of eating freshly prepared mushy vegetables and overcooked meat, especially if it's been sitting in the fridge for a week.

It also saddens me because it must make some of them believe all nutritious and/or home-cooked food tastes terrible. No wonder ordering take-out is often a significant contributor to their weight problem!

The bottom line: I completely relate to points 1-4 and try to stop myself from falling into those patterns. I hope my time wasted on YouTube also helps you learn something useful!

Tantrum Tuesday Unburnable Belly Fat

Great day for this post because I'm getting frustrated. Basically, 7 months ago I started at 209, down from 240. I hadn't really noticed the loss as it was brought about small changes that I was not tracking over a year or two. Not really the point but kind of as I did not notice because my belly has stayed the same. I started my actual work at weight loss Feb 7. I lost about 39 pounds and was at 170-175. I still had a belly. It was super frustrating and even more so considering I'm 6 foot 3 inches and looked not so good. I sustained that weight for two months before getting over looking sickly, so I gained 25 pounds over the course of the last few months. Wouldn't you know most of it went straight to my gut. I'm at 190-195 right now and I should not have a gut! I keep pushing and telling myself it is fine, I'm still cut everywhere else, but it still gets at me. I've put in the work. I don't really believe in target exercise but I'm still doing abs two to three times a week because that's what I want. I know I will have stretch marks and it will never look perfect but I want the two inches of fat to go away! I am not super keen on using fat burners because I know how to lose weight but at this point I'm about to start weighing, lol, all my options.

Would anyone have any advice? I just want a flat tummy.

I feel like giving up on weight loss

Just needed to vent a bit: I don't have anyone in my life that I can really talk to about this. I've been trying to lose weight for a little over a month and a half now, was going to the gym 3 times a week, trying to eat more healthily, all that. School started, I don't have time to go the gym anymore (which I feel super guilty about every day), and now when I was dressing in the morning I noticed I have new stretch marks on the backs of my knees. I feel like just giving up, and I know it's too short of a timespan for significant weight loss, but God it makes me want to take a nice nap on the highway when I feel like I'm getting uglier and fatter.

please help, constantly eating

Pretty much the title. 5'5, 67kg (147lbs), 17f.

During the summer I went from 68 to 63 very quickly, but stabilised at 65 which I was still pretty chuffed about. But now that I've decided to make a push to get down to 60kg, it's like food is constantly on my mind. I've found myself immersed in eating disorder spaces trying to stop it but it's just not working (which is good I guess).

I've never been an emotional eater in my life, but as my panic over this issue grows so does how much I consume. On top of that macros are stressing me out and I'm constantly thinking about how much fiber, protein, saturated fat etc I'm eating. I've got a pretty exhausting part time job as well as A-levels, and don't tend to feel hungry (more likely irritable and tired) so eating enough has been something I've always had to be conscious of and I'm so scared of tiredness affecting my performance that I'm consistently overeating by 1-2k cals a day I'm guessing

I just want to go back to the days where I wouldn't remember food existed until mealtimes, eat whatever, and then move on. Now I'm trapped in a prison of refusing a single morsel from a friend if I don't know the calories and then panicking before school and forcing down a heavy breakfast even though I never really used to eat at all until after school.

How do I get out of this and start thinking about food and weight loss in a healthier way? Even just a little bit would be absolutely fine, I was pretty happy with my body at 65, it's these extra two that are making me hate myself
