Protein rules and weight loss?

New to r/loseit so apologies if this has been addressed already.

Does anyone have issues losing weight while trying to up their protein?

I am trying to lose, i'm guessing, around 20 lbs of fat. I'm not new to eating clean and mostly do (a lot of vegetables, legumes, quinoa/brown rice, some fruits but minimal). I exercise low-mid intensity 3-5 days a week mostly cycling and yoga. I have never followed the 1g of protein per 1lb body weight rule and have been following that recently. I probably used to do half of that and felt great and was able to lose weight easily with exercise, and hold muscle (maybe the difference between early 30's and late 30's?!). I'm losing nothing and always bloated. I find myself eating way more since I started doing the protein increase as well. I am using KOS protein powder and keeping my smoothie ingredients reasonable calories-wise and tried a few other protein powders -all same. Worth mentioning I'm pretty stressed out these days and it's an obvious contributor. I want to bail on any protein powder/supplement and just eat deficit. Thoughts?
