Hello! As the title says, I know next to nothing about working out, but I am hoping to start going to the gym soon in order to help with my weight loss. I am currently doing CICO and intermittent fasting, but I want to try to speed it up as well as improve other aspects of my life by working out.
I'm not a stranger to exercise overall, when I was 16 I weighed about 220lbs (100kg) and used CICO as well as sports to get down to 180, and it was the best I'd looked and felt. Then I went to university, and gained all of that weight back and then some over the past 4.5 years. I am now at 240lbs (108kg) and fairly unhappy with myself, it's also creating some tension in my relationship.
I am coming to r/loseit with hopes that someone might be able to help recommend a workout routine that I can do at my local gym. I want to get into strength training, but I just have no idea where to start or what routines I find on google are actually good for a beginner. I am hoping someone here might have had good experience with a routine, or just know a lot about fitness and could help me out.
I am 20 years old, 5'11, 240lb (108kg) and I also still have some level of general athleticism, just little experience in a gym.
