Was at a concert last night(I vaccinated no worries) and got told by a random girl I had a nice butt while in line at the bar.
I've never received a compliment about my body from a random stranger. I realize this fitness journey is for myself but damn if a strangers validation ain't something special.
I lost the weight a few years ago and been on the very slow process to put on muscle since then. Always disliked my body and when my girlfriend tells me I have a nice butt up until now I had always assumed she was just being nice. The random comment made my week so I'll try to pass on the kindness, never know when you can lift someone up so be kind y'all:)
Word limit so I'll go into a bit more detail.

I have nothing new to say about weight loss, you've heard it many times on this sub by many talented writers. What I can speak more about is the transition from losing to maintaining and putting on muscle for those interested.
If(like me) you have been overweight your entire life until the loss and now are well within "healthy" weight but still think you look fat, YOU DO NOT. I went down to 155 and still the entire time thought I looked fat because I wasn't happy with my body. Looking back now 20lbs heaver I realize I was pretty damn skinny and am much happier with my body now.
Once you've reached a healthy weight, muscle is gonna have a much bigger impact on the shape and appearance of your body. Not saying this needs to be your goal, but please don't make the mistake I made of "if I just lose enough I will like my body", because that is a both dangerous and false. Trust the scale when it says you're healthy and accept yourself. If you still want to change your body, weight training is a great way but be prepared muscle gain is a much slower process than weight loss. I have been weight training for about 3 years(albeit inconsistent for the first half) and have gained maybe 20lbs of muscle.
Also last hot tip: hip thrusts/glute bridges for da booty is all ya need
