Current stats: f22, 5”4, 170lbs.
I started my weight loss journey 3 months ago and started at 185.9lbs.
In 3 months i’ve lost 16lbs which i’m really happy about. That’s a substantial amount of weight and i’m proud that i’ve actually stuck to this for so long.
Problem 1
Every day I have to make such a conscious effort around food. Being mindful is something that I just don’t want to live with. I mean that’s kind of what losing weight is but it’s not easy for me at all.
Problem 2
The scale fluctuates so much I don’t trust myself. Thinking logically, i’ve lost a decent amount of weight to know that I must be doing something right. But here’s the thing. I don’t eat the same amount of calories every day. On average I eat between 1400-1700 cals a day and I never go over 1700. I only notice the scale drop after eating at the lower end a few days in a row (1000 cals) . So it’s just a mind fuck because I keep thinking that I eat too much when the scale stays the same or increases for 2 weeks straight. Only when I have a small appetite for a few days the scale likes to drop.
Problem 3
I don’t feel like i’ve lost weight. The scale has dropped, my pants fit me better. But, I genuinely feel like I look the exact same. I don’t know why but that’s just how I feel.
Problem 4
I hate exercise. I work in an office full time so i’m very sedentary without exercise. I go to the gym 2-3 times a week. I try my best but I don’t think I work out hard enough. I’m just so exhausted and really don’t enjoy it but I guess it’s better than nothing.
Problem 5
Why does it take so long! I understand that it’s a full lifestyle change but, I feel like for all the hell I put myself through I wish that I could see faster results.
On a positive note…
Something that has changed for me is that I don’t crave as much junk anymore. My appetite has reduced and i’m not as tempted. I’m used to eating less now.
I’m posting this in the hopes to feel less alone in this. If anyone else has related to any of the points i’ve made I’d really love to hear your story. Or any advice.
