Vent/Advice Wanted

25M. Early last year, I embarked on a pretty successful weight loss journey. I was counting calories, lifting and rucking 3 times a week, and it was working. My food noise was manageable, and I wasn't finding it hard to keep to my deficit. I got to the point where people were noticing the weight loss and making positive comments, something I've never experienced before.

After switching out rucking for running in my workout schedule, I developed pain in my knees. Patellar tendonitis, or something similar. I saw a PT specialist and was given exercises, but that setback completely destroyed my motivation. I neglected my PT exercises, and then I lost access to the gym I used. I became discouraged, probably depressed too, and I've wallowed in that for the better part of a year now, undoing all the progress I had made. I'm extremely upset at myself.

Now, I've fallen into a miserable cycle: Try to get back into a deficit, keep to it for a couple of days, binge, give up until next week. I want out. I want to return to where I was, making progress and feeling genuinely good about it, but I'm stuck. The upshot is I've started regularly doing the PT exercises that I should've been doing all along, but I'm really struggling to get the other pieces to fall into place.

weight loss help plssss

i am a 18yr old female who weighs 182lbs and 5ft5 who needs help on weight loss tips. I struggle sticking to calorie deficits due to sometimes eating too little calories causing me to eat over my deficit. However when add more calories i feel guilty almost like i am eating too many and overall just struggle with a calorie deficit.

I have struggled for years with my body image and feel as-if this time in my life is the worst i have felt and want to make a change but the motivation and discipline are hard to keep up with. I no longer want to let my weight consume me as all that is on my mind all day every day is the way i look and it becomes draining. I decide to starve myself but then become soo hungry and i binge and it’s just a vicious cycle.

please can somebody help out with their tips as it is all really starting to take a toll on me and my mental health.

Low Fat Diet

currently, i’m on a low fat diet due to being diagnosed with gallstones from rapid weight loss.

all im eating at the moment is plain pasta, plain chicken breasts and apples also ketchup to make things taste ok lol. but it’s just so boring and i would like to expand what i consume since i literally have to go out shopping every 3 days because i only eat 3 things.

also to mention im not the best cook, so if possible could you guys help me with low fat meal/snack options. around 5g fat meals and then 1-2g fat snack options. i know that might sound low or maybe it is im not sure ive never really dieted until now, ive just had eating disorders all my life lol. anyways i just dont want pain, its excruciating. i tried adding a chocolate protein drink into my diet the other day and it just made my tummy really uncomfortable every time i drank half of it. damn it was so good though, but 5g fat in a full bottle.

ANYWAYS, any help is appreciated! i go to see my surgeon on the 1st of october so hopefully after my surgery i can eat normally. also if i didnt mention already… im very picky and have sensory issues with mushy/gritty food. dont know how to explain it but i just dont like certain weird textures. i know it doesnt matter saying that since everyone’s mouths are different and what i might find mushy u might find normal or something. but yeah just wanted to put that out there. ok thank you!1!1!1!!!

Is it supposed to feel this hard?

So for context, I've been at a average 500 cal deficit, this is week 5.

I made an assumption that my maintenance is 2500 (5"5, 160lbs)

I've had 2 binge episodes so far, driving my average intake to 2100.

My average protein: 145g

My average step count is 9000, because I don't have as much activity in the weekends, my weekday count is more like 12,000.

I weight train 4 times a week, train grapppling 4-5 times a week (1hr 30min ish)

My weight progression so far has been very fluctuating, I started off at 161, I've seen 153, 157, 163, 158, my average weekly weight loss is around 0.7 pounds. (I know scale weight =/= fat loss)

I adhere to high volume diets and whole foods to keep my calorie counting accurate.

My carb sources: potatoes, squash, oatmeal

Protein (I avoid any super fatty meats to ensure accuracy): canned tuna, egg (mostly egg whites), chicken breasts, greek yogurt.

Fats: yolks, omega 3s, fats from oats.

Fiber: oats, onions, carrots, cucumbers, tomatos, strawberries.

Overall I feel absolutely horrible.

My sleep quality is non-existant, I keep waking up in the middle of the night and struggle to fall asleep (I take omega 3, melatonin, magnesium to help)

Everytime I eat I'm trembling physically a little bit from fear the meal won't make me feel full, and after I eat often times I enter in a "trance" where my body is screaming at me to binge.

I'm losing a lot of hair and eyebrow hair weirdly enough.

I often get the advice to up my fat intake, and which I experimented with, which just drives my appetite through the roof and makes my cut harder triggers my binges harder and any hormonal problems don't get resolved.

I try to go high volume - did a lot of soups, oats, veggie stirfry but doesn't seem to help much.

It's getting worse I can't concentrate on anything I do.

I just have to ask is it always this hard? Does it get any better from here? I don't understand how some people adhere to this. Any advice I'm open to, thanks.

My 11‑Year Weight Loss Journey

In 2015, my life changed in a way I never expected. A ruptured appendix landed me in the hospital, scared, exhausted, and weighing 352.8 pounds. Standing there in that gown, hooked up to machines, I felt like my body was shutting down and my denial was finally catching up with me. That moment became the dividing line between the life I had been living and the life I knew I needed to fight for.

What followed wasn’t a straight line. It wasn’t a dramatic transformation montage. It was eleven years of ups and downs, victories and setbacks, and more frustration than I ever thought I could handle. I tried everything, diets, programs, routines, promises. I showed up with commitment, discipline, and hope. And still, there were long stretches where nothing worked. The scale didn’t move. My body felt stuck. I felt stuck.

Those were the hardest moments. Not because I wasn’t trying, but because I was, fully, honestly, desperately. And it still felt like my body was fighting me every step of the way.

But I kept going.

There were times I made progress and felt lighter, stronger, and more connected to myself. And there were times I slipped backward, regained weight, lost motivation, or felt like I was starting from scratch. It wasn’t pretty. It wasn’t perfect. But it was real.

And I didn’t do it alone.

If it weren’t for the love of my family, my friends, and my incredible husband, I don’t think I would have made it to where I am today. They didn’t judge me. They didn’t push me. They didn’t love the “after” more than the “before.” They loved me, through every version, every setback, every restart. Their support kept me standing when I felt like collapsing. Their belief in me carried me through the moments when I didn’t believe in myself.

Today, in 2026, I stand at 190.2 pounds. That number represents far more than weight. It represents survival. It represents every tear, every restart, every morning I chose to try again. It represents the man who walked into a hospital in 2015 and decided, maybe without even realizing it, that he wasn’t done yet.

This journey wasn’t about perfection. It was about persistence. It was about love. It was about refusing to give up on myself, even when the world felt heavy.

And now, I finally get to live in the body I fought so hard for.

5 weeks in, 18.4 lbs down. Proud of myself and just getting started!

28M | 6’1” | SW: 346 lbs | CW: 327.6 lbs
Just wanted to share a little milestone because I’m genuinely proud of myself and the progress I’ve made so far.
I’m officially 5 weeks into my weight loss journey and down 18.4 pounds!
I’ve been using ChatGPT to help organize my workouts, track my weight increases at the gym, and come up with recipes so I’m not eating the same boring meals every day. I’ve also been using MyFitnessPal religiously to track everything I eat.
Currently averaging around 1,800–1,900 calories a day and hitting the gym 5 days a week. I’m focusing on losing fat while building muscle and getting stronger along the way.
I know 5 weeks isn’t a long time in the grand scheme of things, and I’ve still got a LONG way to go, but I’m really proud of what I’ve managed to accomplish in such a short period of time.
The biggest thing for me has been finding a routine I can actually stick to rather than trying to change everything overnight. Seeing the number on the scale go down while watching the weights I lift go up has been incredibly motivating.
Still a long road ahead, but for the first time in a while, I’m genuinely excited to see where I’ll be in another 5 weeks, 3 months, or even a year.
Just wanted to share a little win with people who understand the journey. Here’s to staying consistent!

Loose skin after moderate weight loss?

Hello! When speaking about loose skin, it’s almost always about people who were on the heavier side. It’s hard for me to find someone who had moderate fat loss to see how their skin behaved. For people who lost 25-35 kg, what were your results? Have you ever needed or wanted surgery?

I'm a bit anxious about it. I know I probably won't end up with a heavy apron belly, and even if I do, it'll be infinitely better than being overweight, especially at a young age when you usually care more about your body.

My stats: 24M, 190 cm (6'2-6'3), starting at 108 kg (240 lbs). CW:104kg GW:80-85 kg. People also say it's important how long the weight has been carried. I've been over 200 lbs for about 3 years now.
