I (18F) come from a generally overweight family meaning that food options within my home haven’t always been the healthiest and there hasn’t always been much pressure to stay active.
More recently I’ve been trying to slowly change my lifestyle as best as I can considering I still live with my parents and haven’t got control over meals other than through portion size, but have mainly been trying to become more active through things such as walks, cycling and at home workouts. I have also been trying to eat in a calorie deficit of 500 calories however I find it quite difficult to track sometimes due to home cooked meals.
My original goal was to be down to 185lb before starting at university in September as, due to being insecure, I find that I’m really not that confident when meeting new people and I want to be more sociable as I went through college without any friends due to being the awkward kid that just sat in the back.
I wanted to know if anyone had any tips for workouts that I can do without equipment that will aid weight loss. Also if anyone had any advice on how to be more confident in terms of going to the gym as I have brought a gym membership for my university however the thought of going there as I am currently makes me very nervous because I’m scared of what other people may think/if I make myself look like an idiot when using the machines.
