Hi everyone! For the past two weeks I’ve had some weird appetite issues and I was wondering if it’s related to getting used to eating less, or maybe just a fluke, or maybe another health problem I have. Not looking for medical advice, just seeing if anyone else had this experience during their weight loss journey. (I also don’t have COVID, been recently tested.)

So for the past two-three weeks, before most meals I’ll feel pretty hungry. I’ll feel ready to eat and totally okay with the thing that I’m having. Then as soon as I take a bite….I’m not hungry anymore, I don’t want it, it doesn’t taste good, I can hardly swallow. Then I usually have to force myself to finish the meal.
I’ve always had a ravenous appetite. This has never been a problem for me, even when I get sick or something. I’m wondering if I’m actually getting used to eating smaller portions and not having 3,500 calories per day—I’ve been averaging about 1,750 for the past two months and that has felt like a very comfortable deficit (though that’s with some days way over or under, that’s the 2-month average). Finally, I wonder if instead it’s connected to a health issue I have that causes some bloating and difficulty swallowing. But I’ve also had that forever and never not wanted to eat because of it.
Overall I’m just curious, not all that worried. I’m eating the right amount and I’m eating a healthy and balanced diet. My appetite has just never been so low, so I’m curious if that’s a side effect of the only major change in my life, my diet and weight.
