Two parts to this NSV.
First part: I was on a week long vacation to visit family. They are very Italian, always trying to feed you. I grew up addicted to food, largely due to the example my family set. In the past, my vacations with them would involve me eating everything offered to me, and I had no idea how my hunger cues worked. Even if I would make good weight loss progress prior to the trip, I'd end up binging with them. Not this time, though!!! I enjoyed the unhealthy food we shared, but I didn't eat more than I wanted to. I ate ice cream. I ate fried fair foods. I reacquired a taste for syrup because of those damn hotel waffles. But by god, I didn't gorge myself!!!
The second part of my victory- I was really nervous when I flew home. In the past I would always backslide after visiting them and start bingeing again, no matter how much I told myself I wouldn't. But!!! This time I really didn't backslide!!!! I went to the gym the next day to get back into the habit. I weighed myself, saw two extra pounds, and resolved not to let it get me down. I am eating at my deficit again. I am resisting that newfound craving for syrup (those god damn waffles!)!! I did it!! I am doing it!!
I will win this marathon!
