DISCLAIMER: I'm no doctor, but I'm just someone who wants to share his experience. I am a male, was 235lbs, 176cm, 23% body fat in the start of 2021 and have somewhat been struggling with losing the weight. I was super uneducated on the concept of weight loss and practically tried all types of fad diets under the sun. I also had a family history of poor liver health and heart related issues (I didn't have any of those, but still alarming as hell). I was practically up sh*t's creek until I found Greg Doucette and MPMD YouTube channel. They really educated me on how weight loss is a slow process and that I have been thinking of it all wrong in the past. Especially Coach Greg, he really taught (and yelled) a lot about CICO, which gave me a clearer path for me to walk on my weight loss journey. Not only that, he taught me to love myself no matter what, which motivated me a ton. I started tracking my calories and took weight lifting and cardio training seriously (I worked out a little before. super half ass). By July 2021, I successfully got down to 185lbs, 14-15% body fat, and have learned to maintain it since. Quarantine may have been hard for people to exercise in a gym, but in the beginning, I only used a few resistance bands to do my workouts. I think as long as you eat in a calorie deficit (don't avoid certain foods, just being mindful of portions depending on calories) and also moving your body, you'll achieve your weight loss goal. As for what I ate, I ate a lot of veggie and a lot of protein and some carbs. A secret for me to stick to my diet (some may be shocked af): Seasoning and diet coke lol. But hey, those are hella low calories products and I did succeed. 🤷♂️
p.s: I would've posted a picture of my before and after progress photo, because I am pretty proud of what I achieved with body recomping but I don't think I can post pic 😅
ONE MORE THING, NEVER BE DISCOURAGED. 😁
