I feel discouraged because I'm afraid of gaining weight due to the medication I'm on , can you relate?

So this year I lost a total of 50 lbs. i did a lot of cooking, tracker my calories, planned my meals ahead, and did a lot of walking. I lost weight very slowly and planned to do that. I want to keep the weight off and continue to lose more weight.

I had been on 5 mg of zyprexa for depression and have managed to lose weight on it. But recently my doctor increased the dosage to 7.5 mg of zyprexa. And my appetite has increased. I get the munchies and feel so hungry m. Even when I eat I don't feel full and continue to eat.

Has anyone had this trouble while on zyprexa or another antidepressant. Has anyone been able to lose weight on this antidepressant. What had been your experience with weight loss on these medications?

I will continue to walk, plan my meals, and track my calories. But it's difficult to curb my hunger on this medication. It sucks because the medication is helping my mood but I can't afford the weight gain. I won't feel good about myself if I gain all the weight back and will feel like my weight lose will be for nothing. What do you guys think ? Any encouragement or advice for me?

Any advice for a chronically ill girl??

For some context, I’m 23 years old suffering with chronic fatigue and chronic pain, I’m coming towards the end of my weight loss journey with only about 9 kilos to go and I’ve hit a bit of a situation.

I’m 165cm (5’5~) and seem to be stuck between 66-67kg (145-147) which puts me roughly bmi 24 and a bit, the reasoning for my goal weight being 58kgs is that was my weight prior to a medication I was put on which I’m slowly coming off of

Now my situation is:

- I’m very limited mobility at the moment, knee and foot pain is stopping me from walking anything above 5-6k steps a day

- Resistance training of any form, including body weight causes me to flare up.

- a 500 calorie deficit puts me just above 1200 which has been making me feel absolutely dreadful and caused me to be bed bound

I’ve been taught how to calorie count and log everything down to small bites, oils and any sauces and extras on my food.

Any tips on how I can just get this last little bit off?? Or is it worth just going extra slow?? ☺️☺️

How much has your current weight loss journey made you finally face your insecurities?

It took me a while but after chatting with a friend I finally came to a realization. I understood that my strong emotions of feeling like I will never be adequate enough for my husband but also others was not because the medication and weight loss. It is because I am finally having to face my own insecurities. Finally having to learn to love myself for who I am and not for who I will never be.

All these years of gaining weight steadily and not taking care of myself it was easier to hide within myself and not face my own realities. I had insecurities before and I chose to shove them down and pretend there wasn't a problem. Now I'm being forced to face them and come to a peace within myself. I haven't gotten there yet but hell if I'm not trying!

For those that have dealt with this as well how have you navigated and come out the other end? Some days it's incredibly hard and other days not as much. The bad days can be really bad though and I hope to learn to cope with those more. I haven't even considered giving up because of these feelings but I'd like to manage the stress better so I can continue on my journey in a healthy way!

Vent/Advice Wanted

25M. Early last year, I embarked on a pretty successful weight loss journey. I was counting calories, lifting and rucking 3 times a week, and it was working. My food noise was manageable, and I wasn't finding it hard to keep to my deficit. I got to the point where people were noticing the weight loss and making positive comments, something I've never experienced before.

After switching out rucking for running in my workout schedule, I developed pain in my knees. Patellar tendonitis, or something similar. I saw a PT specialist and was given exercises, but that setback completely destroyed my motivation. I neglected my PT exercises, and then I lost access to the gym I used. I became discouraged, probably depressed too, and I've wallowed in that for the better part of a year now, undoing all the progress I had made. I'm extremely upset at myself.

Now, I've fallen into a miserable cycle: Try to get back into a deficit, keep to it for a couple of days, binge, give up until next week. I want out. I want to return to where I was, making progress and feeling genuinely good about it, but I'm stuck. The upshot is I've started regularly doing the PT exercises that I should've been doing all along, but I'm really struggling to get the other pieces to fall into place.

weight loss help plssss

i am a 18yr old female who weighs 182lbs and 5ft5 who needs help on weight loss tips. I struggle sticking to calorie deficits due to sometimes eating too little calories causing me to eat over my deficit. However when add more calories i feel guilty almost like i am eating too many and overall just struggle with a calorie deficit.

I have struggled for years with my body image and feel as-if this time in my life is the worst i have felt and want to make a change but the motivation and discipline are hard to keep up with. I no longer want to let my weight consume me as all that is on my mind all day every day is the way i look and it becomes draining. I decide to starve myself but then become soo hungry and i binge and it’s just a vicious cycle.

please can somebody help out with their tips as it is all really starting to take a toll on me and my mental health.

Low Fat Diet

currently, i’m on a low fat diet due to being diagnosed with gallstones from rapid weight loss.

all im eating at the moment is plain pasta, plain chicken breasts and apples also ketchup to make things taste ok lol. but it’s just so boring and i would like to expand what i consume since i literally have to go out shopping every 3 days because i only eat 3 things.

also to mention im not the best cook, so if possible could you guys help me with low fat meal/snack options. around 5g fat meals and then 1-2g fat snack options. i know that might sound low or maybe it is im not sure ive never really dieted until now, ive just had eating disorders all my life lol. anyways i just dont want pain, its excruciating. i tried adding a chocolate protein drink into my diet the other day and it just made my tummy really uncomfortable every time i drank half of it. damn it was so good though, but 5g fat in a full bottle.

ANYWAYS, any help is appreciated! i go to see my surgeon on the 1st of october so hopefully after my surgery i can eat normally. also if i didnt mention already… im very picky and have sensory issues with mushy/gritty food. dont know how to explain it but i just dont like certain weird textures. i know it doesnt matter saying that since everyone’s mouths are different and what i might find mushy u might find normal or something. but yeah just wanted to put that out there. ok thank you!1!1!1!!!
