So I've been on a journey since January and am down almost 60 pounds. At first it was mostly just diet and pounds came off quickly. Then I moved to a new place closer to outdoor trails and I've been getting in massive hikes virtually everyday. I'm talking about 7K+ four or five times a week, and maybe 3 or 4k a day for the other couple.
When I first moved it was easy to take a break - I'd just stay home when it's raining. But we've had three plus weeks of unseasonably great weather and combined with the pandemic/monotony of working from home/living by myself, it's really hard to take a day off from it. Even with the regular routine I've noticed a slight plateau and my legs (which have to support a still obese huge man) get really sore.
I know rest is important for people trying to build muscle but I'm more focused on shedding pounds.
Should I be regularly taking a rest day?
